Pixologic Release: PaintStop plugin for ZBrush 3.1 Windows & ZBrush 3.2 MacOSX

That image is just a screen capture of the introductory video. Click on Menus on the top right of Paintstop and the normal zbrush menus will appear. To get the right panel open select the sliver of the shelf on the right side of your screen, the shelf will open up. Now open the layers menu. You will see a small button on the top left of the menu - drag this little round button to the shelf and the layers menu will open up in the shelf. As for all the layers that are in that screen capture, marcus_civis explained:

The plugin uses some extra ZBrush layers for its routines (and for things like a tracing image), which is what you are seeing in that screen shot. If you create extra ZBrush layers you may get unpredictable results!

man…the oils and palette knife are crazy awesome!

Like the new plugin, here are a few doddles.

It’s brilliant. I immediatly went out to buy a new tablet!

Thanks Pixologic for overwhelming us with all those goodies! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

About half an hour with paintstop, I didn’t paint this one over an image, but watched the original image as I drew.

What does it do that Painter and Photoshop don’t?

You can paint with real depth.

Great paintings, folks!

Looks like Painter. Anyone have an example, showing the painting in Depth?

Thanks Etcher and thanks Brandon

Cost nothing if you own zBrush.

Yeah, this is why I posted that there are only two layers in PaintStop. I tried accessing additional layers from the menus but couldn’t get anything to work. Aside from the fact that there are only two editable layers in the PaintStop interface, You can access additional layers from the layers menu once it’s made visible. You will see that ZB3 is using additional scripted layers in the background in addition to the two editable layers that are normally visible in the PaintStop interface. You can also create additional editable layers and even draw in them on the canvas. The layer’s icon will reflect any strokes applied to that layer. But any newly created layers and strokes will not appear on the canvas even if you reoreder the layers. Perhaps PaintStop is a script that’s retro engineered for ZB3, and the implementation of PaintStop’s features in ZB4 will take full advantage of a new core that allows you to use more than 2 layers on the canvas. That’s cleary just speculation on my part. Damn, oil just jumped another 20 bucks.

solution 1

EDIT>PREFERENCES>DON’T HIDE ZBRUSH MENUS… turn it on!

Now push on DOCUMENT (zbrush standard menu) and change the resolution.

turn off the button PRO for free resolution.

solution 2

FILE>NEW

setting your resolution with standard menu PaintStop, very Easy…
