Outer Space Bounty Hunter

Digging the updates, looks great:+1:

Dman3d-thanks

Hey guys still not finished yet, but I put together a progress picture. I’m sitting here cracking up to myself over the early version of my hunter. I think it good to sit back and reflect on your work.
I used the burn tool on the green parts, to make the figure as a whole pop more. I plan on scratching the orange parts to give them more detail, make the hexagon pattern more cohesive throughout the model and I also need to figure out whats blowing the cloth material in the render. Still have a lot more stuff to do, I won’t stop until I’m happy:cool:

Imho, the second one is the best one so far!

Keep going, this is gonna be an awsome work! :+1:

I like elements from each…but i do think the one with more colors is way to much over the top to be a bounty hunter. However, this is still excellent work and if anything it’s demonstrating where your mind is focusing on and what you still think needs improvement.

These 3 renders are almost 3 different types of hunters or level up style concept.

BTW, digging the bigger shells on his arm. Dunno if anyone noticed that.
Also, I really like the color/texture scheme in the 2nd one around the shins/feet area. That looks sharp, almost more classy looking. Dunno why but i think you could go with a few outfit styles not needing the be in the mindset of (oh this isnt right i need to fix that) instead maybe just different outfit schemes the character is suppose to wear.

Out of curiosity, what did you have in mind for what goes inside the square containers around his belt? Maybe create like logos for each or something depending on what they are used for. Food, medicine/vaccines/anti venom, ammo, traps/tubing/wiring/nets, mobile broadcasting radio. Just suggestions to get the mind flowing.

AVBN5000-thanks man, for the ideas I might make more logos.

Still not done, but I’m getting close to finishing the model. Don’t pay attention to the background, I want to go for a more painterly look. So far I like where I’m headed with the character. still have things to tweak like the holster and couple other things, might add more logos. In this update I made the green assets, and grenade holder darker. I added text to the grenades, made the hexagon pattern smaller and less noticeably beside the top pipes I forgot.

That’s Bad Ass!!!

Looks really cool dude!
I think that the lighting setup is a bit too high key. Something more moody would fit him better and would help to unify the colors. Anyway, great job!

Ctrl+S B4 U Save- thanks man
undoz- thanks for the advice, I think it looks better low key too:D

Another quick update, I changed the light setup. I’ll attach a comparison picture too. I’m Still fixing things, at least I’m getting closer.:sunglasses:

arthurduque-thank you for you comment

wethand -thanks

I’m finally finished, I want to say thanks to everybody for pushing me in the right direction. Like before this was a great learning process. I learned so much about texturing metal throughout the making of this character, and learned new techniques as well. I rendered a huge picture but had to make it smaller to fit the guide lines. Thanks guys:D

This turned out very well, love the pose and textures on the last render. One thing bugging me though is the reflection on the glasses. Could help toning that down a bit. Other than that, this is top notch work

Grats, you have been working on that guy for some time! Turned out great, good interpretation.:+1:

Awesome work dude!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Awesome Details, great job, I was wondering what is your process of making hard surface armor, I am a student at an art school and no one has been teaching that

Here’s a link to a high res picture of my character, I should have posted this first. Don’t know what I was thinking.

vikramvr- thank you, kinda like the eye’s like that.I might mess around with it some more;)

Dman3d-thanks, I worked on this to long. At least it helped me out on my speed.

AVBN5000-thanks

ArthurRamazanov- Thanks the way I did it is really simple. I just made alphas in zbrush on my subtools, then I used those in my actually texture maps in Photoshop. The areas where the metal shows I turned completely white in my spec map and added some noise as well to make it pop more. I also sculpted some scratches in the actually pieces to make it seem more worn.
