Orb - game environment stuff

Congratulations on an excellent job Orb.
Man I ask a question?
How was this material created in the crystal of ice, was impressive, and would like to know the process.
Thank you and congratulations.

This is why art and history classes are just as important as math and science. We need to stop cutting these areas of puplic education.

Know your history and you too can create great stuff like this. All of this stuff reminds me of when I had to do a paper on the serpent throughout the world in my art history class.

Im was curious- what kind of baking setup are you using in xnormal?

I also use Unity, and I have not been able to get results that are this clean. I’d be thrilled to hear what your normal baking setup is.

Awesome work and thanks for sharing it with us! :+1:

I saw this over at the Unity community - i must have missed that you were using ZBrush, really fantastic work!

I actually made a post this morning over there about workflow and such with ZBrush for games, it would be great to hear your feedback on the topic.

That’s a lot of good work!

wauw!

WOW! This is fantastic stuff man! Really inspiring - I love the style - it’s a shame it won’t be published though… almost makes me want to start doing some env art myself! haha.
Keep it up and best of luck to you! Thanks for sharing!

Keep posting.

Nice work, I love the crystals!

Exquisite!

So first off I have to say super freakin’ awesome!
However I have some questions for you, and hopefully you aren’t too afraid to give away trade secrets.
I am currently working on an outdoor scene using some Zbrush-Maya work flow mumbo jumbo and I was wondering how in the world you got such clean edges to your geometry when you sculpted the crystal and some of the rocks. I like the look and I feel something like that would add to my personal project. (I hope you don’t consider this stealing just learning from the master). If there was a way to explain your process with out the burden of a video I would be happy but if you put it in one, I will literally explode with joy.
Thanks and PS,
still amazing.

Describing this with one worth would be: Breathtaking. Especially considering this was made for the unity engine. Can only imagine how awesome that game would’ve been :3 This really inspired me loads so thank you and keep up the amazing work.

Sorry to insist, what about the sand texture tiling? Did you use Zbrush or you started from a photoshop texture that was already tilable?

I sense another expensive DVD tutorial for Zbrush coming our way!
