excellent travail et une technique incroyable Marcel…
Chapeau bas

Damned !
Cela doit être possible !
J’y retourne
Pilou

 work in progress, the mechanichal horse… as you see, the translation in nurbs of the head of the horse is very similar of the original mesh…

Beau cheval !
Moi j’ai une fievre de cheval  car je n’ai pas trouvé le moyen de convertir ces foutus polygones en Nurbs :frowning:
Pilou
ps What is the Nurb Marcel’s Method ?

Wow Is fantastic your aproach Marcel, you are searching a very interesting topic with a very elegant results¡¡¡
Congratulations

Different! I like this image! :+1: :+1: :+1:

AWESOME Modeling,really great image!!

LOVIN’ this exercise, M! :+1: :+1: :+1:
I’ve been playing with this general idea, with subpatch and box-modelling combos in LightWave…Although it’s a different ‘blend’, I believe my curiosity comes from the same quest!
Thanks for the innovative and stimulating workflow…!

You can use Maya to convert poly to Subdiv and then to Nurbs.
It’s the simpliest way.

 stonecutter, sure, i’ve seen when you begin to work with lightwave; always the same question, if it’(s possible to extend the “range” of zbrush, it’s "full use"of the creatives possibilitie"s of the soft… rimasson, please, have you tried to convert a complicated zform in maya? w<hat happens??? in the following picture, everytrhing is zbrush, everything translated in nurbs and very “lighted”, so all the things goes to a “round” look… no texture, just an off white and colored lights… amitiés M.

Bigre ! Marcel !
That’s very good indeed
And your metthod for convert polygon in Nurbs ? Just “smurf” of Rhino ? Or another trick ?
Pilou

In Maya you can convert a 15000 poly model into nurbs without too much problems. I knwow that’s not much polys with Zbrush
If you plan to use more hi res models (100 000 - 250 000 polys), a reverse modeling program like Cyslice is much more appropriate.

merci rimasson… in fact, with subdivision, ztools are very heavy… i’ll try maya… frenchy, it’s simple, i’ve explained higher: you import in rhino, you use the “level curves”, you loft the curves, and ok, that’s done… in fact, you have always to split the curves, to avoid creases, and so on… it’s never simple, and tricky, and frustrating! but as you can see on the pict join, if well done, no difference between the original form and the nurbs one, even when “rebuild”, and after you can operate what you want in booleans, sweep, fillet and so on…

Thx
That’s give some ideas for everybody
Pilou
Ps J’ai pas retouvé le cheval, je pense qu’il devait etre du sculpteur César !

Nice stuff Marcel! What program are you using with the nurbs? They look very nice! Always inspiring!

dmerchen the program is rhino, but i think that any nurbs program has this function… well, a last picture on this mix zbrush nurbs… Friendly M.

Very nice, Mr. M… :+1: :sunglasses: :+1:
The one thing aside from the tight techniques, that I always enjoy about your work, is the ‘Cinematic’ perspectives that so many of your images contain…I like to think of the eye of an artist, as a camera, and you have a lovely selection of ‘lenses’ at your disposal… :sunglasses:

wonderful images. i like how you paint your images with the light.

Thanks for the information concerning the program. You have another fine image once again!

Hi Guys,

CySlice is a great tool to use with high resolution meshes if you want to product tangent NURBS patches.

If you get the latest issue of Highend Magazine, available as of today, I give an overview of CySlice and how you can use it with your high res models created in our favorite application - ZBrush!
