I’m a little confused about the piece at the top of this page…did you paint the image of the old man in the background?

G-Dub

This is a master painting study of hands done for the Artistic Anatomy and Figuative Art Forum found in CGTalk. Subdivision Open Fiigure Drawing Workshop 023 HANDS.
I chose Rembrandt’s painting “PORTRAIT OF AN OLD MAN IN RED”, circa: 1652-1654, Hermitage Museum, Russia, as a master study. The hands of the old man in the painting express a life time of hard labor and work which is something that I can relate to and is why I chose this painting as my master study. I used Painter 9, its impasto and other oil brushes and stuck as closely to Rambradts painting and technique as I could, while interpretting it using digital. I painted it entirely free hand, no grid or use of color picker. The works in progress for this master copy can be found in my sketch book anatomy thread. Hope you enjoy. Take care Glenn

fshayong Thank You.
I have only just begun to use the SPOTLIGHT feature…Still learning how it works…I used it on the wolverine and elk, the landscape that they are in, the lion sculpture that I just made, the first dragon on this page, the one that’s fighting the lion, and the ermin batfish creature that is posted above on this page.
It’s an amazing feature isn’t it… …I can see by your latest work, that you have mastered it already…Seeing how you have used it, has given me some ideas on how I can use it in my own works, and has also really inspired me to explore and experiment with it further…Thanks for that Inspiration…:+1:
I really like your works also…I’m always taking a peek at that Da Vinci portrait that you did awhile back…the guy with the fancy helmet…posted in your CG Talk Portfollio…That’s one of my favorites from him, and it amazes me what you have done with it every time I look at it…Hard to do, and a rare thing, to be able to take a master work, and improve upon it…but you managed to succeed in doing so with that one…:+1:

Last dragon posts are great SD. :+1:
About finished work, a piece of art is finished when the artist can’t stand it any more. A esoteric ringing. It means finished.
And merry christmas and best wishes for the new year.

Last dragon post looks great. !! i Would like have one like that on the real life.

Thank You Michalis

Merry Christmas and wishes for a Great New Year to you also…:+1:

the mp4 HD version is good enough.

Some of these guys are friends from blenderartists forum. They had to work with blender only so to help development, the one who sculpted the dragons wished to work with zbrush but the challenge was to use latest blender builds.

I’m spoiling your thread, I’m afraid so.
question: can you applink corel painter with zbrush?
