Thanks Julian you posts about SSS are quite cool, very clear!!! I love what you´ve done in 2.5!!! Cool atmosphere!!! Keep showing your work it´s amazing!!!
I know this may be a really stupid question (shame on me jajaja), but the walls behind the renders… are directly inside zbrush or are added en photoshop? i know i know it´s a stupid question!!! Congrats again Julian.
@rodrigo - no, your qeustion isn’t stupid at all. why would you think so.
the walls are actual geometry rendered in Zbrush.
Thanks Julian i love the mood. Great work!!! Cool to see those beautifull renders came out from Z Brush!!!

The Mother from Pink Floyd’s The Wall:)
and Roger Waters is doin the wall in boston 45 mins. away in a week and im not goin
Well, I am a huge Pink Floyd fan, but not really of fan of Roger’s politics (love his voice on the old Pink Floyd stuff though):td: I’ve seen Pink Floyd sans Roger twice, once in Tampa and once in Orlando with David Gilmour leading the group and it was fantastic. Great idea doing the characters from the movie. The Judge would, erm, be interesting:D
Edited to add: Now you got me thinking of doing one of the characters, hope that doesn’t cheese you off:)
I really like this character’s face, reminds me of Scottish artist Peter Howson’s paintings… was he a source of inspiration?
@P.ONeill - Thank you. No, I have never even heard of him or seen anything until now that you mentioned him. googled him up a bit and his work looks very interesting.
as for the inspiration - in this case it is really my own work as a painter and the attempt to translate my own natural flow of strokes into 3d.
Very kind of you to post the lights! I know I’m a bit late to this thread, but I can’t wait to get home and try them out! I couldn’t have seen this at a better time! Thanks!!
You are welcome GoofyFoot

Just stumbled onto this thread. Great work! I applaud your shader/lighting efforts and willingness to share.
Can you talk a bit about your process and the brushes you use? If you’ve already discussed it please just point me to the thread page.
Looking forward to seeing more.
@Poda - There isn’t anything special about my workflow and brushes I use, but here it goes.
When it comes to humanoid characters I usually start with one of my various base meshes I already have or the ones you can download from Pixologic.
Or like in the case of ‘Mother’ where I did a quick Zsphere mesh, which I then took to Silo to optimize the edge flow a bit. Most of my low poly modeling is done in Silo. From Silo it goes to 3dsmax for some basic UV unwrap and a reset X-Form to make sure there is no weird scaling on the mesh before I export to Zbrush.
Before I start any sculpting I arrange my mesh into various poly groups ( as everybody here does) for quick isolation and access later on.
As for brushes, those are mainly the Dam-Standard Brush, The Clay Brushes ( Clay and ClayBUildup), Inflat, Form, MoveTopoloElastic(great ZB4 Addition), Hpolish and the Trim Brushes for harder clean surfaces.
In the past I did often use self made and/or photo based alphas for finer wrinkles, but meanwhile I found it to be more effective to simply do it all by hand for the most part, just with the dam_standard, pinch, and inflate. I just have more control over the flow that way.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the huge brush choice of Zbrush, but most of the time I find jumping between too many different brushes and alphas more distracting than time saving. nevertheless, there is always an occasion where one of all the other brushes comes in very handy
Oddly enough I rarely use the Standard Brush.
that’s it basically. anything specific you want to know, just ask.
I just looked at your site and totally fell in love with Amanda.uncensored of course
she’s extremely charming.
Is that woman with the lipstick and mirror Sophia Loren?

Great work… would go down well as a Pink Floyd piece… specially the song “Mother”…
