New Wips and Zbrush Shader&Light Test[shader download on page 1] (potential nudity)

hi there,

just a quick sketch of something not related to my current project. have to do this merely for a concept and thus it’s rough state. will probably also not take it any further,. but maybe turn it into something else later on…

again lit and rendered in Zbrush only.

Nice… :+1:

thanks

I missed this thread Julian, apologies…
This is an excellent thread, congratulations, thank you for sharing.
Not just a top raw stuff. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

you are welcome michalis.

a big thank you for the light setup/mats, I tried them out and it made my model (wip) pop out straight away, i’ll still need to tweak the material for non-skin objects, but it’s so much better. It’s a bit dark and i’ll need to rework the texture a bit, cause the matcaps were more forgiving on rough brush strokes.

But I really like the look it gives.

Thanks for sharing !

Hi Namek,

You are welcome. nice to see it utilzed

I think you can easily fix the darkness by simply adjusting the light (turn it up)

here’s a metal material I tweaked for my setup, which you mgith fund useful for your character.

hi everybody,

Here are a few alphas someone might find useful. I did actually submit them to the Pixologic alpha library a week ago, but they haven’s showed up yet. so in acse they don’t get through, here they are.

That is an exceptionally good sculpt, that overweight man. Wonderful.

Do you have some Zbrush screen shots of these Alphas in use? Would love to see them in action, applied onto a model.

Thanks! :+1:

:+1: fantastic Job CONGRATULATION !!!

for example, here in my Bacon thread :

Wow, they do work quite well, don’t they? Great knuckles, buttons and nails. Excellent work! :+1: :+1:

yep. especially the nails and knuckles are meant as a quick base to work from.

Well, we may have something common here Julian_K, maybe. Back in 96, have a look http://www.cangelaris.com/art_zisi.htm

I definitely like this. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Hey Julian, thanks for sharing the alphas  . I love the new experiment

-> @Julian and michalis: that is the weirdest coincidence!!! cool painting though michalis

Thats why I love art Etcher. These things are happening, and this is beautiful. What Julian_K is trying here is not the same of course but some common principles in composition exist. Like less vs more. Like the smoothness and unity of this nude vs fragmentation. etc etc.

Hey Julian, you’re absolutely right about 2.5D!

Great new works… making my skin itch… again! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

indeed michalis, there is a resemblance. do you have a higher res version of that picture? it’s awfully tiny and I’d like to see it better.

Thank you Etcher.

@Rawsunlight - seriously, this is really just fooling around. I quickly used 2 models I am working on for 2 totally different projects and messed around with the endless multiplication you can do in 2.5d. I kept somewhat ignoring that part of Zbrush so far, because at work I really didn’t have much use for it.
definitely worth exploring though.
but thanks in any case

next addition to this thread should be more worthwhile…
