theres something wrong with the script, it keep freezin z on me
hhhmmm thats wierd…it works for me =P Anyone else having this problem??
Actually you can turn it around. Just go the layer’s pallette and you can press the “flip vertical” or “flip horizontal” and that’ll flip your layer accordingly. I do that sometimes to make sure something isn’t off in my composition that I didn’t spot when it was unflipped.
I never ever knew that WingedOne, and if it weren’t for you; I probably never would Thank you!
I like the effect Cal. Earlier today I was thinking about “sketching” in Zbrush - wondering how I could get a “penciled” look.
Too weird!
Thanks filament
I’d be interested in seeing your Z-sketches
Nice one!
I have never tried a sketch from scratch.
I usually only use th 2D tools for backdrops.
very cool! i could not believe my eyes when watching the 1st script just now, replayed it with show actions and still could not believe until i realized that there has to be some major tabletmagic (unswallowed) involved veryvery inspiring and thank you for giving me another reason for trying to get accustomed to the neglected wacom again!

Thats a nice image Cal, very different from your usual stuff, you should do some more
Thanks guys.
Yeah the wacom tablet is just awesome. Just like sketching on paper.
If you find you glide too much over the place, and dont have enough control, and you’ve played with the settings but still aren’t happy.
Lay a piece of paper over the top of the wacom tablet, and sketch with your pen on that. Feels just like sketching on paper, slows that baby down too.
I have actually put my sketch pad directly on my tablet and drawn on that. It seems to be able to read through the thick pad just fine.
Yeah I would of guessed it would go through that also. I mean; you can move the cursor around while holding the pen a good two inches about the tablet.
What size tablets are you guys using?, mines A6, pretty small but still does the job, is there advantages in having a larger one? (I’m talking tablets ok ;))
Mine is 12"…um…er my tablet that is…9x12 Intuos 2
I think I have the most cheapo tablet on the planet. It’s a KB Jam with a 7X5 working area. It didn’t work with Windows XP at first, but a few days ago I downloaded a new driver and now it works. I still use the mouse 95% of the time, cuz I haven’t gotten used to the darn tablet. OK for scribbling, but using it to click buttons and move sliders will take some practice. BTW, the self-pic on the “how good at modeling” thread is the first thing I’ve done with the table. About 90% tablet.
Actually Cal I believe Wacom makes an ink pen that works on your tablet…at least I seem to remember reading about it on their websit. It actually draws in real ink so you can put a piece of paper on your tablet ink it out and at the same time it is drawn in whatever software you are using too. This is quoted directly from their site:
Intuos2 Inking Pen - $79.95
Similar in contruction to the Classic Pen but with the significant feature that this pen has the ability to write or draw with ink. It does not have an eraser or a DuoSwitch
The pic however looks like it has a plastic nib so I am not sure.
I model with the mouse, tried the tablet but it’s a little frustrating, it’s wierd because i’m left handed, so thats what I use with the tablet but I’m better with my poorer right hand with the mouse
hmm, i don’t know about that inking pen. I may have a look at it next time I get a chance. Being an airbrush artist, I’m also interested in the airbrush pen. Has anyone here ever used one? Do they actually work well?
As for the size of my tablet; I use a Wacom Intuos2 12 x 18. Works well since I have an incredibly flat and large work area (old and very very flat metal work table, works great)
I have the airbrush pen as well as the regular stylus.
I LOVE it. Works outstandingly smooth and delivers what I look for in such a tool.
Wacom Intuos Graphire 9X12
Ok awesome, thanks Kathey. I just may have to check it out sometime
