Man, that’s an awesome picture. I definetely prefer Air’s original version. The monsters simply look better in there. The overworked version has too much saturated colours (especially too much blue) in it, and thus doesn’t really support Air’s given background story.

I was really impressed by AIR’s work and just did a REALLY quick example of
what I was talking about in my first post. I’m talking 10 minutes of doodling here.
A big congratulations to AIR for Top Row though… 
It’s well deserved and I still think the posing of characters in the piece is outstanding… 
I will gladly remove my “version” now so AIR’s work can stand on it’s own.
Again, I sincerely apologise for creating this controversy for a wonderfully talented artist…

Amazing work, how you have manages to tie it together without over crowding it is brilliant. You can read every character.
Ive got a couple of crits. One is the proportions of the little boy seem a little off (perhaps the head) the other is the lightbearer face; its where everyones focus is drawn to, and considering the level of detail in the beasties, it seems a little flat. But this is just an opinion.
I love the skin texturing of the monsters. A lot to like. Great stuff.
It’s very dynamic and very nice. . I like the story aspect. You captured “the moment” very well.

I never thought this work would get such attention, cos usually my works pass as average barelly worthwhile watching images.
I dont have problem with your mod Dickie, and I’d like if you could return it where it was, I see you deleted it, cos I like second opinion, especially if someone takes his time and do it way you did.Im not taking it as ofense, not even close, I apreciate it.
I admit though, I’ts strange that thumbnail on front page is taken of your mod, dunno who’s mistake it is.
As for rest of you friends, that have taken your time to drop a comment,

This is a wonderful image. The time spent on the composition is quite obvious and the characters are suitibly posed. The main characters in the centre of the screen are equally as wonderful and the small details in this work like the grasping of the cloth and the splashes of water help to make it something special. I noticed what had been done with the slight changes that Dickie had made and I belive that there was a point well noted. Thats one of the best things about this forum is that we can learn from each other and make much better progress and even better final imagery. That was nice of someone to play with you work for a bit and make some suggestions as this is a great sign of interest and so a sign of respect for you work. I agrre very much with the lighting changes that Dickie made, although bear in mind that as was said this was ten ins in photoshop, as it was just to inform of an idea. If you spend some time adding some simular colours but with much less satuaration, that would be good, but really that is all that would be needed so that the idea is tehre but not to much. I hope you show some close ups, some individual charcters, like the faces of the main characters as this all helps to inspire us even more than you already have done. Thanks for sharing.

I said I prefered the original, but Dickie made a VERY valid point and took the time to illustrate it. As such did nothing wrong at all.
There you go Dickie, Air approved and so do most of us, go ahead and put the moded image back.
