Demoralisingly brilliant…
WOW.
P.S.: the second tentacule at his right is going trough his cloth
crazy stuff as usual man. You have mad skills
Hi guys
thank you for all your coments
As i said, i still have some work to do on it on the eyes and on the bottom part of the tentacle. i also want to add some more details if i have some free time.
my workflow for this image is almost the same as before. I started in modo for the base mesh (actually i maid 2 differents base mesh, one for the head and one for the body so i could go to high details in ZB for both) then in ZB for the high res and the textures (also use photoshop for the texture). then back in modo for the rendering. This time i worked with different passes (diffuse, SSS, specular, reflection) and i composited them in combustion. I used combustion because it’s easier to work with it than photoshop because you only have to reload your files when you rerender them. I also find that the color corrector in combustion is way more powerful and easier to use than the tools in photoshop (which are great too :))
For the Skin shader, nothing very special. I used the SSS from modo which have only 3 values to set: SSS amont, SSS Color and depth. It’s way easier to use than the MR or Vray one but you have less control on it. I use one map for the SSS amont and one for the SSS color. that’s all.
I will try to post more images of the shader tree next week when i will have access to the computer i used.
cyberman2: Yes i know for the tentacles ;). actually there are other parts that need more worked.
SpaDeKo: Modo is a ful and IMHO a really great modeling soft and good rendering too. I did all the base mesh in modo. I will post some wireframe of it soon
strob: Sorry but i don’t think this guy will ever move (modo isn’t doing animation so far ;))
Drummer: thank you I’m also glad to be on this page with all these great artistes.
Vexona: Sorry but i didn’t understand what you mean with “Would be sweet to see it with the ZbornTool.” ??
Big thanx to all the others too
Hope it helped you
thanx again
Bravo! Great Work… Model and specialy texturing is amazing.
I am very much like to now how did you do the texture.
A beautifully executed head model, maddam
The SSS scattering depth and lighting really suit this character well…

Encore du tout bon !
Great as always !
great work man !
and congrtulation on the top row !
very inspire
very nice work. Very nice model and render.
I’m not too crazy about the angle the character is displayed, composition and light. I think it’s not flattering your good character. Also it doesn’t look like a Davey Jones crew member. The awesome look of the characters in the movie comes from the mix between the creature and coral, sea, elements that blend together. I can easily see this awesome character: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=039119
as a member of davey jones crew. But yours is just a creature in a pirate costume. I see it more in a starwars movie actually.
Again very nice work
真羡慕你能作出这样的材质、、、
It has been a while since I have made any comments on the forum but I have been looking in on a regular basis to see what everyone has been doing.
This work here is fantastic, best I have seen in a long time. Nice!
Maddam, WOW!!!
Ok, I agree with some of the compostion comments.
But Damn this is a thing of beauty.
I really like it… as soon as the pic popped up I was floored.
Really great!
Cheers

Aka, The Voodoo Monkey
Just seen this model. Veerrrry nice. The skin is awesome. Great work
Cool, I especially like the lighting
Hmmm…rendering different passes in modo…that’s something new. At least it is for me.
Perfect work, especially on the textures and lighting! I’m looking forward to study a tutorial of yours
Cool portrait
uf perfect work and you say this guy need work, amazing
How are you lighting this? I find the lighting and material very impressive. So the sss shader is easier than mental ray to use? I have been struggling with that shader for awhile now.
Maddam, I think this is just top row with at least some of
those!
Great texturing and lighting. Is there perhaps a way you can tell a little bit more about the way you create your main surface, as I pressume this is basically done in ZBrush and compositing in Combustion?
Keep on this great way of showing your skills
