My anatomy study blog

more progress, still both WIPs:

crits appreciated

Good stuff! Just wanted to jump in, say hi, and subscribe.

Thanks

Looking clean and solid mate! Great job on your anatomy study:+1:
Definently keep up the studies and have fun zbrushing!
Cheers,

  • Kenny:)

Thanks Kenny!

here is an update, almost time to paint:

Hope I can actually render these big enough to see the pores for the hand in!

So, I have hand painted these textures (whilst observing photo reference). My screen isn’t calibrated and every new screen I look at this on changes the hue; so I am not entirely sure if it is too much of one colour.

crits greatly appreciated. Actual renders of everything very soon!!

For my Expotees stand, I made a poster. It should get printed just under 2m tall, which is cool! I rendered it using BPR and composited in photoshop.

really cool idea, I like it!

I can just concur, really great idea and I totally like your anatomy study blog! Really great work and your anatomy is looking really nice! Very clean and great :+1:references aswell! Definantly keep it going and have fun sculpting mate!:+1:

since you mentioned crits, just my two cents (learning anatomy myself
)

  • The lower bicep area seems to just melt into arm
  • The browline does not protrude enough and the eyesocket seems a bit too flush with the
    face IMHO

Again, just some observations I am learning myself

Thanks everyone!

d100763 - thanks for the crits, I’m still learning, and its getting to the point where details like yours really help, so thanks a lot. I wont have time to change it for the project deadline, but I understand what you mean. I might still work on it after university, if so I will change it.

I have noticed a few things wrong with it myself too that I might change after.

Hey, so I managed to finish everything for the deadline! I might do more to this in the future.

Anyway, here are some of the renders I used for the hand in:

a wonderful study, a great learning expeirience and a very pleasant presentation. your work is inspiring.

Really love the render with the fatty tissue and skin cut-away. Any chance you could get some anatomy models 3D printed? I struggle with my anatomy and can’t afford the freedom of teach models.

superb anatomy studies, totally love it. Did you take the Anatomy Echorche Class with Ryan Kingslien?
Just keep it going mate, looking forward to your reel showing your anatomy improvements!:+1:
Cheers,

  • Kenny:>

Hey, thanks for the comments! I’m really proud of this work, so I really appreciate the interest and being told my art is inspiring lol!

KC - I haven’t yet taken any ecorche classes with Ryan Kingslien, I have tried my best to work a lot from medical references, but I have taken a few (very valuable) tips from some of his youtube videos and other artists stuff (like Scott Eaton and Bammes). But ofc, I am still learning this, so I might check the classes out.

JeremyD - I am certainly going to look into getting 3d prints, maybe to sell. I am not entirely sure about this though as I am assuming the model cant have holes
and there are a lot of holes in this
Like for example, the spine is seperate pieces, the neck has a load of gaps. But when I get time, I might see if I can close them up and get it ready for print.

A few more renders I did for my portfolio:

Oddly enough, the colors in the renders remind me of renaissance paintings in a way.

Nice anatomy (as expected!)

very nice , reminds me , i have to start to do some body anatomi myself
