Multi WIP

Hi,
Pan looks great, girl looks like a good start. Not 100% sure about the lenght of the abdomen though, maybe a bit long?

Hot dog’s concept is cool but the sculpt is not so polished. Wobbly in lots of places, anatomy not yet nailed down. Looks like you rushed into tertiary forms before nailing down the primary and secondary forms. I know you can do better

Anatomy of the head, arm and around the clavicles could be much refined and cleaned up (Trim dynamic is your friend) Fabric wrinkles dont really work so you might wanna find a ref for this. Doing a render with antialiasing would be cool too. Also why is the scarf 100% red on the front side and has stripes on the back? Is there a knot on the back of the head?
Hope you wont take it too bad cuz it has potential!

Hi Bohe !
Of course I don’t take your comment in a bad way. It’s always constructive comments and that’s what I’m looking for.

Your right about Hot Dog, maybe I rush a little too much the details on the different parts. After some time on the anatomy of the girl, I see a lot of wrong things on the Hot dog model.
Actually there’s no knot behind the head, as the model was meant to be a lowpoly of 1000 tri, I wanted to keep it simple. But as you say, that’s a strange result regarding the scarf frontside/backside final render.
I will get back to this character later, cause that’s not a lot of work to finish this piece.

As a matter of fact, I work on the female character and this is the result for today. A lot of work to do but I kinda like the body result.

Nice! I’m with bohemond though on the female anatomy. If your going for along slender body type you may able to make it feel more appropriate by moving the hips and belly up a bit and leave the crotch alone. Good work on the maquettes though!

Love the armour for Hot Dog, how did you get the texture to go on so nicely, if I use drag rect I end up with edges, and painting it on the size appears to change too much?

Thanks guys for the different advice about this character.
This is the last modifications, hope it will be better !

Opentheway: For the armour, it was nothing too difficult, just a good base mesh with sharp edges, some selection and bump work. The texture was done with polypaint. I hope that helps you !

nice update
Looks promising

Looks like you rushed a little too fast in the detailing though
I’m sure your stitching can wait for the folds and wrinkles to be perfect. I can definitly improve them. Gather some ref, they will help you out.

Last time i made pockets and stuff on a pair of trousers I made them in the mesh. I think I would’ve done pockets as a new subtool and merged them when retopologizing. Just something you should consider if you want

Some new stuff. Today, I took time to sculpt the boots, there’s still things that aren’t clean but I’m pretty happy with it.
Victorcs: New subtools for pockets are definitely a good idea. I’ll surely consider it !
Thanks a lot for the advices !
Bohé:Yeah, as always your right, I kinda have some difficulties to get the ref I need. I would like to make a stylish British trousers from WWII but… for women
It’s a thin but rough fabric and the folds are not my speciality !
But that’s the next thing on my to do list !!!
