i really want the update but i dont feel like they owe me the update or something. if they announced tommorow that they were never updating again i’ve already got what i paid for so cant really complain

Unlike with v.3.1, mac users won’t be getting a temporary windows license to hold them over, they will have to wait. This doesn’t bother me, I just thought I’d mention it. As a Mac user, we have nothing to moan about. Pixologic has taken very good care of us this year. We’ve had releases and features not available to windows yet that you guys are going to really enjoy.
I see people lose their minds around every ZBrush release. The delays can make you go mad, but once it’s actually out, everyone will be back here rightfully kissing butt! That’s what the coolest software on the planet does to us when the release doesn’t go exactly to plan!
So lets all exercise some patience, and let them get the job done without catching so much hell. It’ll be worth the wait in the end, we all know it.

As a former Mac user with ZB, I can say from experience: It can be a lot worse . . .
I don’t think it’s fair to compare this delay to previous ones. The worst delay was well over a year, IIRC, this one is only barely weeks yet.
I do wonder what parts of zB4 were so obviously not ready that they had to be pared from this release, and whether the v3.5 release means v4 will be getting features not originally planned for it. Obviously they still have other things up their sleeve…
Others will disagree, but I say bring on the animation tools!
Me personally… I would like to see the retop tools, and renderer improved… which I dont care if it’s not for this nor Zbrush 4 release… but hopefully in the future.
Yeah, I think their imaginations are bigger than their attention spans. I was so afraid of retopology until I saw an… erm… someone making it look simple in another program. Watched a video of someone doing it in zBrush and thought to myself “Really? That’s an actual step that people are spending hours per model on?” Is there a shrinkwrap tool to transfer a good topology from an existing mesh (such as a head) to a new sculpt?
As for animation, I wasn’t directing that to the people who see more pressing problems with zBrush itself. It was more toward the people who have other animation tools in their pipeline who might feel that adding animation to zBrush would be a waste of Pixologic’s resources. Which is exactly how I felt when I heard Daz was adding 3D paint to Carrara, btw. One of those “but I already have that” kind of feelings.

unless i’m very confused and have totally misread the updates, 3.5 doesn’t exactly add a whole lot. it’s simlply improved variations of existing tools.
my cintiq arrived friday afternoon and i would have loved to give them both a workout togethor but you can’t tell me you NEED 3.5. it doesn’t do anything 3.1 can’t.
as for the “hype” one user is complaining about. i only found out about 3.5 a couple weeks ago, when i came here looking for a better skin matcap. unless your getting billboards and bus ads in your region then the “hype” was all generated by you.

Onto the other thought I had. It’s starting to be very obvious that Pixologic loves watching people who want “satisfaction” not get it, as in torture 
Soooo I’m guessing all you guys (and girls gotta by politically correct when I’m being politically incorrect) are in for a loooooong wait before your 3d sculpting fetish gets satisfied by the people in charge. Cause they are probably having way to much fun holding out.
Personally I don’t know about the rest of you, but I can wait forever. Hear that Pixologic? no satisfaction being denied here. Your games don’t work on me. The only reason I check this thread is to laugh.
