MonteCristo's Work Dump

Curious what you’d come up with for the mixamo contest…I started on the DBZ one but haven’t finished, really wanted to work on the Mixamo one a swell…soo many contests so little time…

Heh. I know what you mean, mate. Still I’ve got time on my hands for a change so I should be able to get stuck into this one. Thanks again!

Well, I took Crash’s advice and jumped on the Polycount competition as this could be a good piece when I come to apply for work. Loving my time on the comp so far. Thanks Crash.

I’m still blocking out the gear at the moment. Hope you like.

Hey no problem man! You’ve jumped on it pretty quickly…I’ve barely accomplished anything since that last comment and you’ve about finished a whole character…probably other things you haven’t posted yet. Way to make me feel unproductive! j/k  I’m working on trying to fit Topogun into my workflow…it’s slowed me down a few days here and there…

But yeah, looks great…looking forward to seeing it finished. Good luck with the competition!

Definitely look into QRemesher, too. I’m finding it can really break the back of retopologising. I love topogun, but ZBrush is really getting it’s act together in that regard. Thanks again Crash.

Hey all,

So I’m just dropping my update to my entry on the Mixamo Adventurer competition on Polycount:

High poly stage is complete. 102 subtools @ 69.5mllion polys. My brain hurts, but loving some of the latest updates to ZBrush. Insert mesh, Noisemaker – heck, the dynamic brush scaling is a god send. This programme just gets better and better.

On to retopology!

:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:would give you three thumbs up but only have two;) great work !!

Thanks Gary!

Hey Jack

Really great work. Keep the work coming. Would love to see some breakdowns.

Paul

Thanks Gabo! If anyone would value breakdowns on anything in particular, let me know!

In the meantime, here’s the finals that I posted for the competition.

Wish me luck!

Very nice, feels like classic Lara Croft for sure!

Lol. Thanks, TC. jumped in there as I was uploading! Yes, I was definitely going for a more classic vibe. I wanted a more ‘solid’ feel to her. My experience of those more adventurous types is that they usually are.

Here’s the rest. Hope you like!

Last one.

Holy crap, that’s one amazing model. Congratulations.

No idea how to pronounce her last name, but she’s really cool!

really nice result, man! I really like the massively varied material types and the great accessories! Good luck with the mixamo contest!

That’s one great character model you’ve made there. Love all the accessories/details…Best of luck with the contest
Chris

JLArt - Thanks it was definitely good practice anyway.

Icebox64 - haha. Her name is Swedish, and means Daughter of Bengt. Or, Bengt’s Daughter.

Funky Bunnies - Glad you noticed, man. Yes material variation was certainly one of the chief areas I was focusing on here. There are a few techniques which can be utilised in PS that can really help here and work so well with whatever you output in ZBrush.

cdlovell – thanks for dropping by. Appreciate the good wishes.

Hey all,

Here’s a breakdown of how I used some of the features in ZBrush R6 To create Violet’s Sweater. Hope it’s of some use to some of you!
