Monday Night Challenge: The Unofficial ZMascot • 09-08-03 to 09-22-03 (Week One)

Thanks Ju-Ju…
(And OF COURSE I kept the Rein-Bats…I burnt them their own CD in fact… :+1: )

And thanks to everyone else who enjoyed my journey into nostalgia…I have a BETA tape of the most classic George Pal animation, which I have yet to convert to a digital media, and I think this piece has encouraged me to get on with that… :sunglasses:

congratulation michael. you made a wonderful image. i like how the colors work together, those diferent shades of green and mint. also the easel is very funny.

Great entries everyone :+1:

I’ve always been a fan of the MNC because they have forced and inspired me to think up and complete an image within a deadline. Thanks to those who organise them :+1:

Stonecutter: I really like what you’ve done with Juandel’s model. It reminds me of the logo of the art supply shop my friend’s parents own. Unfortunatly they ditched that logo a while ago, but it was of three cartoon characters (a pencil, a brush and ? - memory! ) running along pell-mell. I used to stocktake for them as a kid and indulge in touching the paper, sniffing the wood of the pencils and putting little dents in the big tubes of oil paint

Strange the things that trigger nostalgic reveries. That’ll be a thank you then for helping me to remember something that had entered the ‘taken for granted’ basket

And thank you B/C for sharing a wonderful memory…
It’s wonderful indeed that we can be led down these paths to the past, by synaptic stimuli caused by seemingly unrelated subjects…Juandel posts the beginning of a model, I take that and abuse it into my nostalgic posting, you see it, and take me into a fascinating stockroom filled with the toys all artists love…

Now THAT is synchronicity!

Lotsa coolies, some are real eyepoppers…
That’s a cool pic Stonecutter, you’ve got a funky mascot style- looks like Christmas has come early.
I’m pleased this challenge has been extended, I thought a previous one had but alas…
Anyhow, I’ve got something in mind for this, time permitting. :+1:

That’s a great style you acheived there! Is this 2D or a 3D model snapshotted, and then painted?..It makes me want to fire up my compressor, and put my Iwata airbrush to work again!!
That is a wonderful piece of illustration, no matter how you did it! :+1: :sunglasses: :+1:

Thanks bud
Yep, Pixochu is a 3D model snapshotted, and then painted over in 2d.
