you know …I wasnt paying attention when playing with it…but now you mention it…lol…question though…why is the mesh so grainy…because of the type of skinning? If I smooth it out the details disappear…do I divide the blasted thang or what? thnx
Thanks all for the great comments!
Lonnie, that is one wicked looking mouse… I really like his posture and all the details!
Cool Machine Kokoro…
That is awesome Froyd…
Ron that is some real nice Zsphere work bud!
Cool stuff!
Here is my dragon update, a whopping 119,146 polys… ;~)
nice update on the dragon , Micheal
Ron : cool looking Zif
Nice update on that dragon Pusghetty!
Taking my inspiration from Froyd I give you The Bushwacker 3000GT
407 Spheres
4178 polys
really stunning, Mentat!
one question: could you give an example, how you reached these nice joints?
its difficult to find that out from the zif It would be kind!
… and that inspires ME again
greets!
I believe they’re done by putting an attractor sphere at the ending of a Zsphere , it tends to flatten the end. In this case a big sphere with half of it flat
Actually Namek is close but that is not how they are done on this zif. I created a sphere then another one on the end of it and moved it inside the first one so it subed it out. It is similar to using an attractor sphere but there are subtle differences. It just depends on what you are doing and if you are using membrane curvature or not. Below is an example of the different modes and their effects. Notice the the manner the mesh is generated in each example.
this stuff is unfriggin believable…has anyone asked Pix yet if we could export these zspheres without skinning them? sometimes i think the zspheres look cooler than the skinned versions- talk about a whole new look for mechs!
Another AWESOME zif model Mentat! i could stare at that for hours! all of your posts are always inspiring! You really seem to have mastered zspheres! Keep em coming!
artboy
I have no time to try and get in on the fun these days. I have terrible house problems. Everything needs to be fixed or replaced. I did want to compliment everyone on some excellent models though! Great work to all of you!
It has been a pleasure to view these at least.
i have read many websites and viewed many artist’s work they have done using programs such as 3dsmax and maya, yes their work is great.
as for me i have great original idea’s but have had problems getting my head around the tools to express my vision on to digital format, i have had numerous success but recently have been flailing, till i seen zbrush and reading this forum and seeing the work done for this competition, it boggles the mind that what can be created with zspheres would take amny weeks to do with a high end app congrats to all you guys im going to get ready to start using this fab app
an unfinished zphere experiment.
approx 122 spheres,9000 polys.
i didn’t get a chance to save an image of the spheres due to crash and i’m only using the demo,so no saved zif.
nevermind, great fun nonetheless
here I go. the second entry better one I guess…
counts:
192 spheres
3360 polys
especially I like its back and wings.
That is a very nice dragon zif Sarabel! Nice and clean…ooooo I could go wild working on something like that!
This thread took some getting through… Some good n crazy stuff on it. I’ll rustle up something soon, fingers crossed.
Here’s my best attempt so far. this is my 3rd zsphere thing.
