Michael Turner's Fathom

Glad I put a smile on yer face…

I’d also like to see her in some “fathomy” swimming poses!

A nice hi res desktop wallpaper sized one for widescreen monitors would rock!

Wow. Great stuff. im glad you went with the wind blown hair, IMHO it’s a solid choice!

Can’t wait to see the end product!

Great work! can’t wait to see it finished.

Pre congrats on the top row that this piece will get  Absolutely love her body and the expression on her face! Well done. :+1:

Simply stunning. Can not wait until the final piece. Really inspiring.

I dont think i can say enough.

great progress !..

beautiful work as usual :+1:

Looks great Brett. You’re on the home stretch now :+1: I tend to like the blue tone, but it does draw the eyes’ attention to that area immediately. It’s really up to you as the artist where you want to lead the viewer’s eye. In my opinion, earth tones may help soften the area, but may also blend it in with the armor and get lost. Regardless, keep up the great work.

B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l work…

lookin great as expected  love the texture thus far and the expression. Just one minor detail, if your going for the whole mock up pose you had on page one with the water swirling around her and such, shouldnt her hair be wet? Just a thought dont take it too serious as its coming out great regardless!

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :grimacing:

Hi guys.

Gareee: Hehe. Cheers man. I’ll see what I can do when I’m finished with her.

Sublimus: Thank you! Glad you like it. I’m pretty happy with her so far.

Tomala: Thanks. A little bit closer this time:D…

GregStrangis: Haha. Thanks. But doubt it. Besides. I’m just enjoying working on her anyway. Been a great learning piece.

Mrguy: Hey guy! haha. Thanks for the reply man. Appreciated :D.

skulll_monster: Thank you for the comment

nightwoodwolf: :o. haha. Thanks mate. Hope your well.

mechanical_halo: I decided to take your advice and stick with the blue. Its not as saturated though. Hope you like it.

vedanta: Thanks!

Zeth09: I hear what your saying. Unfortunately I have no idea how to make it more wet looking. I’ve tried adding more reflections to the hair. But the issue is the hair tips don’t clump together very well. So its out of my hands now, unless someone is willing to share some secrets with me ;). This may have to stay as is, Otherwise I end up spending months researching the problem. I’d like to just move on. hahaha.

Here’s the update. The water I’m not happy with. its to static and needs more splashy randomness, Unfortunately I have no real flow knowledge. So sue so me :p. I may have to model all the water if need be.

Her hands and feet still have no texture. I’m thinkin of making them go transparent like it does in the comic. But will have to see.

Everything is being displaced and rendered in one go, silly me, I know :p. All that I did was add grain, adjust the exposure, and the 1st image had a depth of field added in photoshop.

Hope you like her.

Thanks for looking.

oooh wavey  I think you went overboard with the grain  that’s a minor point though… I’d say it’d be nice to break up the hair a bit more with small strands in between those big ones, to get rid of that straight cut on the ends… looking great:+1:

HOT :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

She’s looking REALLY great, Brett :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Especially like the last render here - her face is looking particularly sweeet from this angle

cheers

Chris

This is absolutely great.

very nice, but agree on the hair part.even skin doesn’t have the depth.but i hope you are looking to it man.keep it up:+1: .she is beatifull.:sunglasses:

BY ODINS RAVEN! thats just rediculousness. if you have 3DstudioMax, try making a particle that uses meta-particles (they act like mercury) and make some that splash upward then take a snap shot of the particle in a spray that you like and use that as the water. unless you are doing all of the rendering in zbrush then its a moot point.

great progress !..

Great piece, Brett! Her skin feels just a little plastic. Could be the specularity. But this is real nice!

Wow, this is absolutely stunning, she’s really coming alive off the page! :+1: :+1:
