Methods of 2D Sketching in ZBrush (UPDATE: new setup script)

This is a drawing I did in an attempt to create a demonstration drawing for 1.23b. I recorded a script of this in 1.23b, but it does not play back all the way through, and it leaves out steps along the way. I also played it in 1.51, and it leaves out different steps along the way. (Bugs?)

1.51:Skull_w_Setup.zip

Thanks sooo much for this setup and script! I’ve been playing alot with it… but alas my skills as an artist is limited.

Here is my first “real” try at it; All done in zbush except conversion and sig.

Edit: Looks like there is fog, but no fog was on; where did I go wrong?

Great tiger Wenna!!! :+1:
Maybe you still have stencil visible, turn the stencil visibility off and you´ll have your problem solved.

Yes, it looks just like it would if the stencil were visible.

Great tiger! :+1:

Nice effects, Jay! :+1:

excellent technique! :+1: :+1: :+1: and so on - thank you for sharing, Jay! and fabulous sketching all of you!

Sketching is fun…

Cordless Graphire Mouse:

Hey jay, great stuff once again.

Is there a need for a 1.55B setup for this?
I am just Downloading the setup now…cant wait to try this now that I have my graphire.

ha, thanks for the reminder (and a :+1: :+1: :+1: example), Jay - somehow experimenting with this fantastico technique had vanished from my agenda into synapses limbo. i hope to be able to give it a try asap, though i couldnt use my mouse for reference, as its still what i am using

Thanks, Mike, Juandel,

The original Setup still works for me.

Hmmm… this is pretty fun

Not exactly second nature sketching with a mouse, but a good reason to go out and get a wacom

Thanks for posting this technique, Jaycephus, and I’m glad you posted a script and this thread once again came to my attention because last time I found it too hard to understand.

Brilliant, and thanks for sharing your drawings.

Great sketches everyone, I thought I would post mine, both are Z although for the second one, the program crashed on me for some subtle reason when I was selecting a paintbrush tool with my stylus (I think I might have moved it a little bit) so I got to experimenting with the second one. Glad I saved my document just before.

This is an exciting method.
Never run out of paper!

EDIT: ADD
