Mei, HMC 15 expressions

very funny!!!

I wish I could see the expressions tweening through each other…

like Intervain said it’s the best Manga character “translated” in 3D i’ve ever seen. it’s just really impressive.

that would have been a plus to animate hairs as well, like in the movie. Hairs use to bulge or move…

VERY nice work !

Wow amazing expressions, I recognized her instantly from the thumbnail. Never thought those kinds of faces would translate so well to 3D.

I’d be really curious to see how these work out with a toon shader treatment.

superb stuff… very cool.

though I have reservations about the pleased expression… looks like mad scientist kind of pleased, slightly sinister  its the brows. aside from that, puppys nuts mate.

Awesome work! Would be killer to have a set of prints  5* :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Wow! This is most definitely some awesome stuff!! Definitely one of the very few manga/anime 3d models i like… great range of expressions too!!
Keep it up! :+1:

I loved this girl. Great model and render. Congratulations

I absolutely love this, fantastic job…

fantastic!!

Amazing work.
Very funny expressions.
Beautiful render.

Congratulation!!

excellent work! :+1:

When someone can take a 2D make fantasy character and make me believe it’s real… that’s incredible. As fantastic as the highly detailed heroes, creatures, etc are, I feel that this piece is one of the most powerful images I have seen here. My hat’s off to you.

Vince

i love it. expressions are very good. good job :+1: :+1: :+1:

I thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the expression and really felt the character was animated and alive. She is so cute, you have done an excellent job with the modeling and texturing the skin tonal changes. Great choice of material and rending also. Thanks for sharing and thanks for making me smile

Arran

Very very nice…:+1:

Wow, That’s a lot of post. thanks all! It’s really inspiring

mos/Webhead/aesis412/womball: Thanks for the comments!

ncollings: Thank you!

Sinyendil: I agree. Especially if someone was to do an ultra realistic version of it. It’s scary 'cause it’s bound to disappoint

victimville: You guessed it. Thanks!

ChillWill Graphix and digi-mech: haha, thanks. I actually did two “pleased”. The first one felt too predictably boring. The one that made it in was inspired by a popular villain from a certain popular comic book franchise.

Likesyrup: I would love to do that at some point! Thanks.

gahpe/pummumu/ivar_sn/Dong Won Yang: Thanks all!

okwang: Thanks for the comment. Yes, I noticed the grey when I looked at the images on a different monitor :frowning:

antzou: Hi, what’s up? You can pm me if you like

sxnero/SbINOK/arunzb/tokio/Mistwalker/splodge/skulll_monster/Clutch: Thanks for the comments!

Reanimathor: thanks Reanimathor

eldee.s: Thanks! That’s great to hear

yvan_c:  Thanks! really appreciate it

YONA: Thanks for the comment, and I agree, there’s a lot that could be done to improve the interpretation. For example, adding more color variations to the mouth/eyes, or adding more fluidity to the hair. btw, is intervalists.com your work? Really nice site design and 2d animation!

waiyeh_L/kakachu/kakachu/: Thanks fo the nice comments all!

rouncer: That would be a good idea. And I would like to do it properly, and fully animated rather than just tweened. Maybe some future project :+1:

ced66: Incredible work at your site Ced! you’re right about the hair. I think I would’ve probably done that if I had entered the challenge sooner.

Art-Machine: Thanks! That would be interesting to try. But I usually don’t like toon in 3d

Super Glitcher: Great idea. Would love to see that for the other entries as well!

chindian: thanks you!

Am3D: The ‘tired’ expression was one of the ones that other artists seemed to favor at cgtalk, and it was probably the easiest one to make once I came up with the general idea. Thanks for the comment!

Karthik.AL/roger/alancamara/Buckie/quanvu/Carlos Machado/cresshead: Thank you all!

praxxis: Yikes, that’s a little overwhelming  Thanks!

Gera/Feiilis:Thanks!

Arran J Lewis: wow, Thanks! really glad you liked it.
