Reworked the eyes for my morrigan WIP

Eyeshader.jpg

nice eyes:p

is this character…high? dem eyes meng

ROFL yeah she is high as a kite, nah I have to dumb down those blood vessels. It’s a WIP so I’m still tweaking it, I was just pretty excited with the results I had at the moment.

@saeed thanks!:smiley:

[SUB]I’ve just watched all the 25 page, awesome works!!! (especially hot chick [/SUB]:D)

Man, this is great! If I had to give a crit, the teeth aren’t on the level as the rest of the model yet IMO. I’m guessing you’re using a translucent shader? I think they could use more striations, and some more color variation to make them even more believable.

I love KS, but I’m finding it incredibly difficult to get a good skin shader, and a good eye shader.

Any chance you can share a little info about those?

Crondom thanks:D

Polaroid I haven’t even touched the teeth shader yet or textures, so I hear ya on the teeth, but it’s coming. The images I’ve shown really have been more of WIPS on skin, eye, and metal shader. Getting good metal was a huge bitch. I believe keyshot can give the same results that vray or mental ray can give. The more I tweak things the closer I get to that standard. As for my steps, I’ll be covering that in some images or livestream after I’m done with my Morrigan. So stay tuned.

Awesome progress!

Keep it up!

P.S. Can you tell me when you started this model? I saw your first sketch on FB, but I just can’t remember it.

Mellkor: I started this the day of the contest July 1st I believe. I took some days off, in between so maybe that’s why you don’t remember.

So today I started on the teeth shaders and textures, tomorrow I hope to finalize that… Here is WIP

Damn man, that Colgate really helps her!

Stunish work, I really can’t wait to see the full version of her.

Can you give me the link of the contest, so I can check it later on and see what’s going on?

You can send me in PM if you want.

P.S. I doubt that someone will beat you there anyway! They have no chance!

Mellkor: That’s really nice of you to say that, but there are some really good entries in the contest besides mine. Regardless I appreciate the comments. Also I believe there is a zbrush thread for it as well.

Part of the neck Jewelry she’ll have

Awesome work. Are these all lit with the default hdris?

kaisasose: No I looked for HDRI that I wanted, but I also used physical lights, and tweaked my shaders heavily. I never use the default anything, because things can look flat pretty quickly, and similar to others doing the same thing.

I see. Thanks for the info. I tried using the pins in KS but I’m guessing you imported lights from another package add objs?

actually, pins might be a good combination to use. I haven’t tried that yet. In my early experimentation, I wasn’t aware of pins yet, so I brought in physical lights from an external package. After I’m done with my model, I’m doing a break down of how I achieve my results.

Be good to see. I’m used to Vray so when I lit my model in KS, it was a case of throwing pins in and seeing how it looked. It seems a viable substitute from the renders I’ve seen online though.

Yeah I enjoy Vray, but it’s a whole another monster in comparison to Keyshot. Keyshot is lacking certain things that Vray has, but regardless there is a method in getting great renders for what Keyshot can afford. At the moment though I’m experimenting with the pin lights, and that might work better, but I’m still keeping my physical lights as a backup. Everything else that isn’t skin is looking great with pin lights, so hopefully today I’ll find out if it’s even worth it. I want my skin to look descent.
