Pdf’s fine here, thanks for sharing it!
Hi
I wanted matcap based, somewhat painterly skin material for one render pass in ZBrush.
No lightcap, no material painting, no photoshop (except for my sig:).
Just the one standard light, a modified base material by zbro with my sss, polypainting, and filters for rich contrasts.
Even the reflections in the last image are a matcap texture. Screengrabs show the stages.
I plan to polypaint und render several characters from this thread with it.
thx

impressive, i can never get zbrush renders look good
Great Renders, can you share with us your few secrets ?
Wow! That looks really great. Would love to see or hear more about it.
zbrush only…
Hi guys,
thanks, glad you like it. The material and rendersetting are “wip” themselves, but the most important filter is the autocontrast.
And try combining color filters, my renders are often too red, so I use the corresponding color filter with a negative value.
Of course, all this depends on the paintjob. use many colors in subtle variations, then they come out allright through the filters.
hope this helps some
Thanks
Really dig your stuff
Thanks Santis, and likewise!
Hi,
I dug up an old anatomy study/character concept.
As before, I wanted matcap-based skin for one render pass in ZBrush.
No lightcap, no material painting, no photoshop (except for my sig).
Just the one standard light, a modified base material by zbro with my sss, polypainting, and filters for rich contrasts.
It’s an old model and paintjob, but I did what I could, tweaking filter settings for quite a while.
Is that a thin Bruce Willis on page 3?! Excellent job on likeness (even if it isn’t him) and Very Nice skin material =)
Yes, thats Bruce! Like he looks in the movie RED. Thanks a lot! and imagine the characters from page one with that skin, I’ll do them!
Unfortunately you can see the parameters used.
I literally dreamed of a new filter/render setup this night, got up a 3 a.m., and did it. As always, straight outta zbrush, no post.
Couldnt help myself and rerender the head too…
But how noticable the difference is depends on your monitor…
Hi guys,
I’m happy to once again share some new studies with you!
I’ve been experimenting with posing, how that relates to fibermesh, and setups for monochromatic presentations without photoshop. I hope you like them!

Thanks Adrian, really appreciate it!
I can’t belive I missed your thread. Very inspiring sculptures and the fibers are great - one of the best I’ve ever seen on a model
I subscribe, keep the great stuff coming
Awesome works! guy. We would be pleasured if you share us painting and rendering video tutorials. Again they are nice and wonderful work ever.
Love your last head!
