Material Problem..

My last post on the previous page. I uploaded a ZScript for you.

Thanks For your time and Zscript Aurick… Still having the same problem and I’am pulling my hair out… The thing is I have 2 seperate objects, the head and the body, the material wants to cover both no matter what I do or what material I use. I have them in seperate layers… Maybe I’am dense on this one but it does not seem to be working. I guess i will have to go back and redo the whole thing…

I think I have got it now hopefully…

Thanks AurickTest.jpg

I have been having the same problem. I feel your pain.  I had to start my whole project all over again because my skin material and tree bark material wanted to paste itself on everything. I also had a tool that wouldn’t let me change it’s material no matter what I tried, but it worked fine in other projects. There are some tricks that have worked for me. When first opening my saved scene I select a different material from the basic materials list, then I load my tool, then I load my skin Material. Selecting another mat before I load my skin mat seams to keep it from paintig all over every thing. I don’t know if this helps at all, but it works for me sometimes.

Yeah Garen,I call it the evil process that does not want to cooperate. It gets very fustrating when you are trying to complete something. Of course that is the way of all programs there is always a pothole in the road that throws you a curve… Thanks for your suggestion… All suggestions are welcome…

3d and Garen…

I’m attaching a little zipped up zscript on material imbedding that might help with the confusion.

It demonstrates in a slightly different way what Aurick was trying to say up above…

Zvengali thanks for your Zscript…

I don’t know it is alittle different with 2 objects for some reason when you load one object that you save with you explaination, it wants to cover the other object with its material… Still alittle quarky…

I think it is a combination of things like making sure you get the material loaded first before any object…
