Very nice work and presentation.
Really fantastic job! Is he skinless? And does he have a lowerbody?
really sweet!
i also like the shader, the cavity settings are really helping to define your musclature lines very well…
Thanks all! Lower body coming soon…
Poisonsoul: I agree, however I don’t know if the cavity shader is gonna be that pronounced in the final version.
Womball: No he is not skinless, thought I can easily figure out why you are asking. Let’s say it’s stylized realism, that’s why there are so much muscles, it helps learn them too…
MatrixNAN: oh yeah! You’re doing one too! It’s really a good exercise isn’t it?
Keep it up man! Well done!
ok, I modelled the upper legs here it is!
what do you guys think? Lower legs coming soon…

Looks pretty good, although the shader may be making seem lumpier than it is. I have to make my attachments that clear.
top quality render
what amaze me most is the render…it looks like some sort of toonline on top of SSS…in any case
its amazing
Very Nice model, and interesting render. Looks like you used a toon shader. I would like to know you did it, it looks ace.
i just think your work is VERY suitable for me to learn male anatomy. that’s your goal, right? i think i should print them out and paste them on my wall, so i would make less mistakes while modelling human body.
btw, do you have the plan to make a female one? i can imagine the female anatomy from this male one, but i dont think that will be precise.
and one more question, how did you get this render effect just like you painted it out. Pure Zbrush Render? can you show the most important parameters of the skin shader?
with tons of respect
What can I say? I agree with lek1 and ashaiad.
Wonderful anatomical study.
Your using Jack Petrocs DVD for reference? The model has the same starter pose as the DVD one. And also it looks similar like you were at least influenced by it.
i love the shader… can you give me it?
Thanks for all those positives comments guys!
So… since everybody seems to like the render style and want to know more about it, I joined to this post the Material and the Lights of my scenes. Take note that the base of the material is actually Antropus Clay shader that I’ve modified. Also keep in mind I play a bit with the colors and contrast in Photoshop with the Zbrush render.
Womball: I saw Zack Petrov DVD a couple of months ago, so I was actually influced by the starting pose and by the way he did the geometry in Maya. I did the same way. However for the sculpting, my main references are Burne Hogarth books and some pictures from www.freedom-of-teach.com to get more accurate references.
Lek1:Thanks man, If you actually considering using my images as anatomical references, be awared that they are not a 100% accurate, I did some stylization here and there…
For the female model question…hmmm…I don’t know yet, we’ll see…I don’t know what else to say!
Thanks again everybody, and stay tuned to see the final model!
The lower legs are almost done, so only the feet left to be done…
Alright, here’s the final model, I’m satisfied with the result, but still am pretty open to comments and critics…So, here it is! What do you guys think?

The feet look too puffy and not quite skeletal enough. Feet don’t have much muscles on them. Also your lacking the arches in the feet. The toes don’t jut out either, they tend to be 2 part bones that form a downward angle. The big toe angles slightly up though so its an exception. It does look like a Burne Hogarth’s studys too. Just not with that huge nose he draws all the time.
bravo!!!
btw, that DVD you guys kept talking about is some anatomy reference?
http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=020709
That’s the model the DVD covers. The DVD is availabe from Gnomon Workshop.
I agree partially with Womballs statements on the feet, although I don’t think the arch is much more pronounced than what you have it as now, I do think there is too much muscle and not enough skeletal structure exposed.
Fantastic work though, something I’m currently apsiring too with a great deal of work ahead of me.
thanks for the shader… your model is really looking good… but the feet need work
Yep you guys are right about the feet!
