I agree with the above posts, I come onto this site everyday hoping to see that the Mac version is ready.

…Ok, I’ve b!tched enough about this late 3.5 over the past few months, even Im sick of hearing the complaints. BUT, I still cant believe that Pixo will not just fill us in with some short info to keep us positive!?!
We love ZBrush, we all praise it, why cant Pixo show the same love and respect its users and communicate the details
…I mean, I feel like i got stood up by this extremely hot date…and she just never showed up…and every time I message “her”… NO reply!..
Rejection sucks, im sure you’ve all felt it! …lol…seriously Pixo, I just dont see how neglecting your users, is good business?..This negative energy sucks, and it could be set positive if you would give us some straight up Respect, and fill us in?..please…small_orange_diamond

and you can see her twin sister having a hot date with your best friend, the one with glasses who is supposed to be the accountant…PC ftw
About the zbrush 3.5 delay of 6 months…
Adobe took two years to deliver a cocoa 64bit version of photoshop, and the wait was so worth it tbh.
I am guessing Zbrush is being transferred into the cocoa era, which means that once here, it will be 64bit and hopefully one fast sonofagun! Maybe utilizing opencl? perhaps well multithreaded?
Either way, when you look at the work involved in basically re-writing an application, 6 months isn´t that much and I am afraid that the wait might be some more months even, but once they get there, I think consequent updates will be much faster.
Alot of maybes, if´s and perhaps… So agreed on the communication part, wouldn´t mind a confirmation on one or all of these points, and I do believe we are a understanding bunch by now.
I’ve waited long enough…installing windows in bootcamp and giving Sculptris a chance. It looks like a very good tool, great interface, free and with great potential…
And I’m trying out 3D Coat. The Programmer has no problems with releasing a Mac and Windows version at the same time! Now 3dC has Ptex… very interesting…
ZBrush will always be the best, but sometimes second best can be better all around (esp. with updates and information openness). It’s not like I feel that I can’t do anything with ZB 3.2… it’s just that I feel like I’m being left behind without any note, just promises written on the wind…
I’m guilty too, I just started looking into 3D coat. I wasn some of the newer retopology tools. I like how ZBrush 3.5 has the edge looping.
I’m not giving up ZB, just looking for solutions.
I personally feel that instead of add in new features such as animation tool, pixologic should focusing on just fixed all the glitches there is in the current version.
just my 2 cents
Perfection is the enemy of progress!
my mind percolating with ZBrush animation possibilities an work-flows
I see a lot of people are telling pixologic to focus on fixing the glitches in Zbrush 3.5R3 first, and THEN focus on adding new features. Good. I too am for all of that, because the scale bug is a pain, and also the fact that if you hold shift and move the tablet pen around without pressing, it somehow zooms in on the ztool - really screws with you using the smoothing brush.
Also there are a lot of glitches still floating around and the software is far from perfect for production use, so I would like pixologic to stop focusing on almost useless produciton features such as animation and go to work fixing bugs. Thanks for reading.
Whao, jaw dropping!!! always, explosive this time.
it would be very nice to be able to click select single polys
an extention of that would be to be able to select one master poly from the selected polys and be able to flatten/match them to that angle with a button click or/and a slider from 0-100 %
i’m sure thats been requested before, but hey, one more vote for it can’t hurt
I like the animation feature, it could be useful for getting subtle life into the character, nostril flares, breathing, muscle twitches that kinda stuff, it’ll all help sell your vision to the man with the cheque-book
not that it applies to me as I’m years away from that day  …oh wait, thats not funny

What determines if a feature is useful for a production? Anytime I hear the word “production” in connection to zBrush, it seems to be from someone implying that only some of zBrush is useful while the rest of it is not. Just having other programs that do some of these things already doesn’t seem like a good reason to argue for less features you will likely get for free.
PLEASE PIXO, release 3.5 for us mac heads. it’s been so long of a wait. Please! I need hard surfaces! .uuughhhh! Come on! Or just tell us Whats up?
That’s because the people posting that feature x is useless for production assumes that everyone has the same production needs. That isn’t true of course, Zbrush is used by a vast range of artists from game studios to movie SFX, from jewellers to illustrators and who knows what else. A feature that is useless to one may transform another’s workflow or open up undreamed of possibilities.
Just because some users have no need of animation in ZB doesn’t mean the rest of us won’t find it useful!
I have to agree with that post 100%, every part of it. Fixes before new features.
Fixes before features isn’t something that should have to be asked for, especially since it’s a free upgrade for everyone who already has it. It’s not like they need to rush it out the door for some quick cash.
A little something - just some kind of status page with a creeping “%done” bar would be enough to probably satisfy most people with regard to impending product updates.
This isn’t a matter of “impatience” - a lot of us bought ZB based primarily on the reassurance that Mac feature parity was literally weeks away. I’m drifting away from feeling like I’ve invested in an upcoming release, and toward feeling like I was duped into floating an advance on someone else’s product development.
They could solve this problem in one go by just issuing a cross-platform license so that Mac folks could work under emulation if necessary, just to keep things moving forward until a full native release - but apparently that’s also not an option.
It’s really daunting to have all these hard surface features dangling just out of reach. I’m sure it only seems that way because I don’t have it, but it feels like project after project would be a “perfect fit” for 3.5 and I can’t use it
+1
