How the hell do you get 2 200Gb drives in a 17" Macbook Pro, is it an official upgrade or a hack job…
It’s a real upgrade man.
The new Hitachi 200GB 7200RPM drives are out and they are very, very fast. You replace your stock drive with one, the other goes into the Superdrive slot with an adapter from OWC. They also provide an external (tiny) case for the Superdrive. I rarely use a superdrive (dvd or cd), so makes the most sense. And since I have this thing plugged into film cameras and other nifty stuff on various locations I don’t like carrying around extra drives.
If your curious about system installs n case all goes kappw, I just have an external drive with PPC/INTEL OS X each on a partition - much faster than DVD.
This isn’t for everyone, but it’s a very cool thing for me.

Nice idea, don’t really use the super drive much either, would never have though of taking it out though. You’ve given me an idea Mr Belec… 
Your welcome. Do look up the kit though as you need a special adapter for the drive to superdrive socket.
