The eyes are definitely cat but for some reason, maybe because of the skin, he reminds me more of a rat or one of those hairless dogs from Mexico. Or El Chupacabra!!!

You’re right: the color changes on the last image give it more of a oil paint-feel. Would be a beautiful sculpt too! !

finally, I’ve found some time to sculpt today,
here’s my sunday afternoon sketch/doodle: ZB + PS.
Turned out into a gollum-like dude.
