Very good sculpting!

but i have a question about chainsaw
Undoz -->you said

The base was made in max and then added some details in ZB
Can we sculpt base mesh in ZB? is it difficult?, is it possible?

:+1: :warning:“Oh great grandmother up in chainsaw heaven…” Boy… would she be proud. “he, he, he, dog will hunt!!” F’n hats off!! That is a fantastic saw. “The saw …the saw is family!”

regarding you character , you did the loops in max or zbrush? since i dont see the loops spheres in you base zsphere model ( i know you cand do loops by selecting faces and clicking the edge loop button but i just dont know if workflow wise is it better export to max or any other 3d app or stick with zbrush till the end )

i wish i could design such a cool chainsaw , congrats

hey undoz…your models are very fine…keep it up man !

Thanks Seb, love your work too!

ScHiZoO: The base mesh for the chainsaw was made in 3ds max. Theoretically you could do it inside zbrush, but it would be very difficult for mechanical objects.

skullbeast Haha, that is funny and it fits the theme

theunskilledguy: The body was initially made from a zsphere model, and then later, I’ve retopologized and projected it inside zbrush. The wire that you see is from the later model. You can keep the entire workflow inside zbrush.

Hey skulll_monster, thanks for the heads up!

WOW! Really cool modeling!! :+1:

I like that chainsaw but I want to see what will it saw !

anandpg thanks!

Calin, I have some ideeas for the character setting, but I’m not sure when I’ll finish it.

I’ve made the lowpoly model that is around 1200 tris, baked the normal map and worked on the texture.

realy well done
can we get a brake down of your steps

I’m really impressed by this body of work! I wish that I could cretique your lumber jack but your knowledge is much better than mine. I’m still working on my anatomy, but you seem to have really nailed it. Your workflow looks clean and if you texture your character with the same diligence as your chain saw I can’t see why this won’t end up as Top Row. I just downloaded your Zsphere character. I’ve come up with solutions for hands and feet and I’m anxious to see your hand rig. Did you model and then re-topograph the figure, because your resulting mesh looks very clean? In any event I’ll be watching this thread carefully!

Ultra Cool Work Undoz!!!

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

This is really impressive :+1: . Great work, the anatomy and his clothes are amazing.

You, my friend, are absolutly amazing!!! Work some more on the male…blegh!!! Sorry, I am watching fear factor where they are eating spiders! EWWWW!

askue: I’ve made the lowpoly starting from the cage of the highpoly chainsaw and then I’ve baked the normal map and skylight/ambient occlusion inside 3ds max.
For the normal map I’ve used the local object mode instead of tangent, because the object won’t be deformable. In this case it is a lot easier to get it right.

hyper1: Thanks. I’ve done about half of the modeling before redoing the topology. Also I haven’t touched the hands before that.
I’ve attached the retopologized mesh if you are interested.

piz, dionisis21 thank you

DaMaher: Thanks! I’ll be working on the male, but my vacation is coming soon and I think it will take a while  … ah excuses

Thanks for letting me play for a few mins with your mesh.

OK undoz,
I’ve seen more seasoned ZBrushers that have had less success with ZSphere hands… on the other hand I have in my collection an anatomical bones and muscles from the shoulder down, in ZSpheres that some dude made back in the ZB2 days that also blew me away. The timing of your re-topo makes sense. But, now you’ve roused my curiosity about your background. I’m suspecting that you didn’t just fall out of the sky with these sculpting abilities  . If you don’t mind sharing that with us I’d be interested, and please keep us up with all of your WIPs.

kyphur, no problem  have fun

hyper1, the ZSphere base was made after Rimasson’s tutorial, so all the credit should go to him. I wouldn’t advise to concentrate too much on the topology that’s coming out of the Zsphere model since you now have the ability to change it entirely.
Another simple way to start would be how Alex Huguet is doing with his amazing simple meshes. I would strongly recommend this approach.
About my background, I’ve been around for eight years so you can say for certain that I haven’t fallen from the sky, but I’ve seen it happen

It’s been a while since I haven’t posted any update on this character, but I’m back from my uk trip and I’ve spent a couple of days on texturing

The model is at 8400 tris right now. I have two uv layouts, one for the head and one for the rest of the body.
The rendering is in max's scanline with a three point light setup.
