Looks great as always. I’m trying to figure out how to make these myself too
Did you use “UV Master” to unwrap the objects in this image? Thank You.
Hey there Paleo,
Although not even close yet I’ve been trying to get better with this style alot lately and since I dont think he will show up to answer I’ll try to help.
UV master doesnt work with this style because the islands dont align well with the displacement/noise maps. PUVs and GUVs work better.
Good luck, Cheers
Thanx for your reply KorayAtes.
I tend to agree with you about UV Master not always ligning-up with the contours of the mesh.
The problem with PUVs and GUVs however is that they “randomly” break-up the textures in
several pieces which I find unacceptable. Textures and displacements appear “continuous” and not broken up
in this thread and wonder how this is done. It would be nice to get a little technical help on this issue.
Hi, …)
KorayAtes
1.The height map is drawn by hand in a special way.
2.Map has a huge size. This eliminates the duplication of textures.
3.Places of joints are hidden with the help of elements identical to the height map.
Hey there Gutalin,
Thank you for your reply and the tips.
Me and Paleo have been discussing about your style over on emails, and I’ve been experimenting alot myself still.
I believe I did figure out a viable workflow finally. Trying to make better structures and believable displacements and textures at the moment.
Thanks for the inspiration,
Cheers
