Oh come on mate! Enough is enough. You’re making the rest of us feel inadequate!
Seriously though its as gorgeous as usual. Give us more.

As always, Alex, I love it! Truly inspiring.
That´s what I wanna see in the upcoming ALIEN prequel.
great man,
i wonder if u could explain in a couple of words how you made the tubes that look like nerves all over the place.
Im in the same quest that most of the people posting in this thread.
This is something i will continue when i ( or anybody else discovers how the tubes are done.
I use one mesh, several extraccions from alphas and here it is.
They should bring back Omni Magazine just for Gutalin. His work takes me to the same place that Foss’ great big spaceships did. I can see the multi-page pictorial in my mind… utterly mind-boggling and fantastic.
Love these!
I can see you are a Giger fan , well done, very compelling images
crazy amazing work…
-bucanero32, my guess on the tubes, theyre probobly poly or nurbs cylinders parented to a nurbs curve or rigged to a skeleton with several joints, then the group is duplicated and set. make the base model “live” then snap the points to the mesh. you could even create an eloborate maze of tubes and shapes, then combine them so they are one object, then rig the resulting object and snap them to the base mesh… thats my guess, lol. but who knows?
but WOW… the concepts in this thread are astounding.
wow your work is just out of this world. amazing.
I thank those of you who supported and recommended me.

The mood of your art brings tears to my eyes. This is one of my favorite threads here. Really amazing work man!
…ones!
pretty much echoing what everyone else here is saying, always eager to see your new stuff
this stuff reminds me of when i would spend hours looking at Giger’s work from Alien… specifically the derelict space craft with the giant pilot. i thought “i wonder what this stuff looked like when it was brand new, before disaster struck…” i always thought the ship looked like it was decayed, that a lot of the details were being revealed through erosion, rotting, etc.
Gutalin’s stuff here looks like a national geographic expedition to the planet that derelict ship came from… and it appears to be just as dead and decayed as the ship in Alien… but much larger and more grand!
great work!

hello gutalin,
first of all i wanna say that your works are increbible ! thanks for sharing them with us.
I just have a question to you and to lou1987.
I tried real hard to figure out how you achieved such high resolution details in your work. i´m almost there i think.
but there is one thing i still don´t understand how lou1987 got the edges that sharp of the single elements.
this is what i created so far:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7056586/detail.jpg
please, could you give me a little hint how you did that ?
are there single subtools extracted from “layer” to “layer” to get extra poly resolution to work on ?
please dont get me wrong - i don´t wanna copy your style - that would be lame for sure - i just want to get a deeper understanding how this could be done inside of zbrush.
thank you very much guys and keep up the great work.
yours Ollie
hey guys. its me again.
i think i found it out.
“split hidden” is the thing i was searching for.

word !
knowing techniques is one thing - but combining them and creating something unique with it is the only way and true skill !!
techniques alone don´t make a good artist.
have a nice day. cu Ollie
