practicing rendering

I’ve gone through your whole gallery. I think this latest one is your best piece. I think the main thing you have to work on is maybe reducing the overall ‘noise’. Make some surfaces clearer, with less repeating patterns, so the whole design becomes more readable.
i’ll try to use your advice, I’m not quite where I want to be yet in terms of skill level but I’m getting there, a big problem of mine is that I don’t like working on anything for more than a day, I tend to rush things out, the base forms I come up with are all pretty good but by the time it gets to detailing them I get a bit lazy, something I’m beginning to overcome recently. trying to put more effort into them, before it was just rush it out and slap some paint on it plus two second render now I’m going slower taking my time and being more careful, thanks for the input and cheers for looking.

made a 2 second clip of this guy shooting his gun, thinking about maybe making a sci-fi short movie, hope you like.
ok I don’t know the correct code for posting a video, they really should have an insert link to youtube button in the box
anyone else find that 3d element and after effects is a sweet rendering option? plus you can composite an image right in the view.

got a tablet it’s only got 2 gigs of ram but its better than nothing considering I sold my laptop managed to squeeze this out of it, hope you like.
version 4, tried to make the lines cleaner, sculpting on as high poly meshes as I could then decimated down, still haven’t got a clue how the pros make those tiny details visible in their renders, will figure it out eventually.

really tough modelling with only 2 gigs of ram, dynamesh doesn’t work half the time, and you have to continually decimate parts to make space for new parts, managed to keep it under 5 mil, so i’m pleased with it I guess, can’t wait to get a new pc, but this satisfies my modelling itch for the time being.
