His round nose makes him look like a softie. other than that… nice.
Actually… his whole face could use a bit of sharpness in its shapes.

I agree with Frigi. I couldnt put my finger on it before, but thats what it is. His face needs a more “chizzled” appearance. It looks too smooth and round. Harder facial features would help. Especially in the nose & corners of the mouth.
Thank you for all these remark I will re-examine all that
are you using Mark Newmans Sculpture for reference? He did a Clay Kratos with the same pose you should check him out on theSculptorscorner.com if you havent already. Hes got some really good stuff on there. even though its quite possibly one of the worst looking sites ever.
Hypnotik- Good job, your sculpt is looking good. I agree with some of the points already made. One thing that stands out for me is… the teeth. They are of course nicely done, however, being Kratos and the time frame he’s in, maybe you could take some liberties and not make them soo pristine looking. Will continue to look for updates and give my more thoughts as you move along. Keep working hard, its going good!
looking good
i am a big fan of god of war so i cant wait to see this when you are done.
keep up the good work
Nice pose!
thanks for all

man, you have such an awesome upper body…but that pose really kills it, IMO. It looks more like he’s doing some odd walk or dance. I think you should bring the leg back down, or not have him leaning forward as much. Nevertheless, very cool modelling.
P.S. did you ever finish your lycan?
Love your model/ modeling…It may not be the pose but the angle shown. Try a 3/4 view obliquely or frontal …or maybe even an overhead to slight overhead frontal shot…just suggestions.

Wonderful work on the muscular structure. What are you using as reference if I may ask?
I think the pose could work but my main concern is the face. I’m the last person on earth who should comment seeing as all my “look-alike” models looks nothing like their real life counter parts. Yet I have to say that the face still doesnt seem quite like Kratos, maybe a couple of tweaks here and there but its of course your call. It really is a wonderful model as a whole.
Btw, I finished God of war 2 a week ago. Brilliant and the CG made me drool. I love the way they modeled zeus. Anyone here know who’s responsible for the CG work in GOW2 and maybe what software they used?
For the muscles I use this book
Well its look identical, so i would think so but he says he uses a book for the muscles.
If he is using it (pretty sure), its a bit rude to post work without stating the source and giving credit to the original creator.
Here it is, you decide.

I do not hide anything, I use really a book for the muscle and well on that I use also this reference to model I just forgot to announce it. it is a crime ?
oh i understand you didnt hide anything, but you also did not inform anyone.
If i used someone else’s concept, without crediting them, is that a crime? Nope i just failed to speak where the credit is due.
Take a look at this post, then look at the begining of the thread (one page back). Its heavily edited now because he was caught out, be he didnt claim to create the concept, he just let everyone think it without commenting.

Scot chen is a talented modeller but should have credit the artist and asked permission.
From what i understand in your post you are saying that anyone could have found this reference. That is like saying i am making the hulk and i model him in a certain way/situation turning it into a full scene. But if someone else created that scene do i credit them, of course i do.
I think you are saying that i am perfect at the end of your post and i thank you for saying so but i am not, however when it comes to using other peoples concept i always credit the people who deserve it thats all.
You might think that because the sculpture is a Sony character that the guy who made the sculpture shouldnt be credited as he doenst own the rights, but my this was a commission of his that he was doing for Sony, etc.
Anyways, i said it wasnt a crime, just rude.
Good luck with the rest of the model.
thank you
Hi i think his looking great. But I can’t “feel” his anger. Maybe if you work on his expresion more it would bring that out.
