Hi J,
Thank you for your kind words.

Women weave the World.
I think it was Mark Twain who said:
“What would men be without women? Scarce, sir, mighty scarce.”

Superb work here!
@ Lemo. Clemens had an amazing mind.
Hi Aeneas,
I agree 100%.
I am overwhelmed by the knotwork in this thread. These artists offer so much to learn from: colour, composition, flow, and other assorted magic.
Cheers,
George
Thanks Aeneas!
KHC_inc:still Zspheres for the plaiting?
Some remnant mesh from last year.Made in Wings3d after Frenchy
and Lemo posted that Topmod stuff, slightly altered and textured
in ZB3.Preview mode.
Have a good Ztime y´all.
Hi J.
How did you align and apply the texture to the new knot? It looks cool.
Yes, I used ZSpheres for the plaits (and the women too). I created a template in Photoshop and applied it to a slightly modified ImagePlaneX (I reduced the sub divisions and changed the referenced tool to a single plane). Here’s a picture with a nline of ZSpheres going around in a circle:

Once the adaptive skin was made, Subtools were used to put rotated copies together.
I learned the braiding technique from a Newtek video for LightWave:

The interesting problem was positioniing the women in a circle. This was done using ZSpheres. Starting with a ZSphere in the centre, six ZSpheres were drawn using Radial+Mirror transforms. Then the Insert Local Mesh command was used to put the women on each one of the six spheres.
Cheers,
George
