bit more work on this creature…

and a bit more…
That’s looking cool. Are you getting any issues with pinching or strange pits that won’t go away with your zsphere base?
Top of that back leg, with the muscles wrapping inwards, looks awesome.
Digging the head design too.
Weakest part for me, is the top side of the tail… it just looks abit blobby.
Keep up the good work!
yeah…a few…but I just smooth them out and carry on
I am sure there is a better way of dealing with it
a little update…I am unhappy with the feet/claws…so I think I will go back and fix them…then I will try and retopologise the whole thing…as an exercise more than anything else…have not done a lot of that in zbrush…need the practice

Love that 2nd render. Great angle, well enforced by the the deph of field and back lighting. Really nice.
Can I asked how your rendered this? What software renderer?
I rendered it in XSI…just a quick setup 3 lights …main pass and an Ambient occlusion pass…also output depth as a pass channel…comped in the fx tree…DOF done in there…and a bit of colour correction
when I have this creature finished(not sure when…got a load of work on!!)…I will do a proper setup in XSI with a load of passes…and it should look alot better…
Hi…
so here is a little sketch of what I want to do next
…I am thinking slightly cartoony…but with a very real subsurface finish
I think baby birds are pretty freaky…but perfect for a bit of Zbrushin’

Nice stuff in your thread! I really like your creature, and the second render is very cool. Im looking forward to seeing the feet and claws. :) The baby-bird concept is great! I
d love to see another mimic, though. Perhaps a slight smile in its face and open eyes.
Anyways, I can`t wait to see it in 3D.
little update on the baby bird…lots to do on him still, but he will have to sit on the shelf for the time being…as I have lots of work to do, but at least it is zbrush stuff…so that should be fun…
