good! you may make unbalance face and teeth, it will make him more realistic:evilevil:
This looks cool! Lost alot of your edges on the scales, space far too even between scales, they need to flow, slide over each other in places or at least collide. Gravity, you cannot escape gravity, it is your cruel mistress for life! (err, dominatrix rather!)
The issue is most apparent with the harshness of the teeth vs the rest of the character, he’s soft, not at all in the same reality. The teeth are great, but a few not perfect would enhance things, nothing major, just not nail straight. You need soft areas between the scales, but scales on an alligator, croc, turtle are hard in any open area. They only soften as they work to high activity and secure areas.
Back to work! Messing it up will also teach you something, get aggressive, try to get away from symmetrical at this stage - sculpt!!!
Coming along very nicely!
looking good mate. Get some really soft gummy sss stuff happening, Simon Blanc style.
hey jason!
its looking really sweet so far :). my only critique is that the scales seem to all be level right now , because it looks as though they were sculpted as just depressions in the skin( so just the outline of the scale is defining it right now) . im not sure what the original schell sculpt looks like , so maybe you were going for this look .
if you raised the level of some scales here and there i think it would break up the eveness quite nicely , or perhaps sculpt the smallest bit of height into the centre of some of the scales.
either way it looks great dude
cheers,
d
Thanks for all your kind words guys…really appreciated;)
Roger: thanks man…I do a rough polypainting in zb indeed to get a overall skintone…and after that i will paint all over again in ps since I can’t get the enough res for 4K in zb;)
MayaDamien: hey Damien…how r u doing…u r right about the same level of the scale…thanks for point out…i will sculpt some cavity to break and give more life to the details:D
paly a bit with light and shader …no update on the textures

looks great !
Would love to see some surface tension, with water running down and beading up on it’s skin. I’ll bet Mesh Extract would work for that, sort of like creating clothing on him, except you would apply a glass material to it to make it look like water. Maybe even some kelp or snails stuck on him. (A fish hook snagged in it’s lip might be over the top, but add some humor like it’s his lip piercing.)
thanks for the comments
ok…still could be fine tune a lot…but I gonna call it done now…time for something else;)
U can grab the high res here
