You should be able to hide the parts on the side your not working on with ctrl + shift as you would with normal geometry.

Ok after some grueling retopologizing I was able to make some major progress and changes the the anatomy. Gonna start putting some armor on him as well.
Thats why hes got the cape:)

Small Color Test
I like the color choice. Might be cool if you mix some of that white/light purple from his face somewhere in on his body a little.
Started playing with some more designs on the body. Im going for something somewhat shamen like with a technological twist.
First color test looks great. My only complaint is that the bottom arms don’t really feel like they connect anatomically.
On the retopo effort, I’d strongly suggest using a different software package, Zbrush is terrible for retopo work. 3dcoat and topogun are great for that kind of thing.
Dont really know where I’m going at this point so I stopped and played around with the renderer and setup some SSS. The image is kinda dark I know but I cant seem to get much more dramatic lighting than that. Some tips would be great;{P

Made some more progress and played with the SSS and BPR a bit more.
This is closer to me but a little too thick in the neck and face. I’ll take care of that.

Thanks guys for the encouragement…I think it would be wise for me to step away from this one for a bit. I’ve never done a likeness before and maybe doing a self bust wasn’t wise. PLus a lot of my sculpting is getting lost with the SSS. I should post some different material shots.

Playing around with some ideas just thought this looked cool. I’m considering printing it out…wonder how much that will run me.
I noticed that you might be having trouble making the edges neat. Im not sure if you have this brush, but when I found it, it opened up a new world of hard surface sculpting for me. I use it all the time now.
