Apologies, cannot answer without causing a large problem for
some nice people who are having enough problems already.
Was unfair to post this.

I will regret this…
Neighbors kid likes the squirrels that hang around.
She knows I do photography. Asked me a few weeks ago
if I would take picture of her “friends”.
This month Daz had a sale. One of the items was a squirrel
on sale that day for 2.00.
I’m thinking, freeze my ass off on the cold ground or…

i have no idea if people on those boards are snobby cause the pages take forever to load, . they need to get rid of all the kipple in peoples sigs.
I can confirm about the poser remarks you get on other forums. It does make some things easier. Most people are rude about it, because many people have given the impression of having done everything from scratch when they used poser for most of it. Which I find strange, because images where Poser was used are in 95% of the cases easily recognisable as being made in poser, so even if a person didn’t mention it, it’s obvious anyway. Then there’s the other 5% (perhaps even less) where you can’t really see it’s poser and in that case the person that made the image probably has enough skill to make it from scratch aswell , so no problem there either
(ps : I’ve only doodled around shortly in poser long ago , back in the bryce days)
I did get comments on another forum about using Zbrush though. They said it was cheating, I had to use conventional polymodeling tools to make models. If it were up to people like that we’d still be using carrier pigeons too.
namek i agree about how people rip on zbrush for polymodeling, the thing is you can do almost everything normal poly modelers do (cept booleans) and/or end up with a low poly cage that is the same, but many people don’t bother to learn the low poly tools. I still know people who won’t even talk to me anymore cause i do 3d instead of just drawing and painting, if only they tried to model they’d see its all soooo much harder than those mediums, you can fake so much in 2d, not so in 3d.
i feel more now that 2d is a bit of a cheat also lol. wheres the love of depth for them?? lol. i love 3D, and i only originally intended to doodle with it but it is an addiction(i get no other work done lol), The programs i adore are Carrara, hexagon(my favourite toy to low poly modal) and the absolutely wonderful Zbrush(waiting on mac release though, so current edition 2 :(, still WOW!!! wonderful). no one should be snooty on their medium, if folk wanted to use poser and any DAZ type program, go for it, some sophisticated tools on them at a very good price, hell i got carrara 6 and hexagon 2.2 for less then 50 british pounds. through clever timing(their sales) and a wonderful offer from 3dworld magazine issue 100. i’m loving it. zbrush will be updated to 3.1 for free (when available), im basically living it large on my budget programs i will post some bits at some point to show what can be done with it all at a very amateur level of course but. ignore people who feel hard done by because they spent 1000s on programs they don’t really know that well lol(those who look down on us for cheaper programs or more readily available bits). the ones that piss and bitch about things are lacking in talent and taking it out on others lol. when they say a good reason to not use the tools you want to experiment with, because lets face it if folk can make something amazing out of a primitive, just think what you could do with a more accurate human figure. amazing, LMAO at the squirrels
Keep brushing with that z(what?? 2d say’s lol) channel
Most of the time a lack of skills, results, and tolerance goes along with snotty remarks about the work of others. However, it does not necessarily go the other way. I am very friendly and easy to work with, but I still suck…
