Indiana Jones Crystal Skulls

I know this is not the place to do it but I would like to see more of the process on how things went from start to finish. From concept to finished physical model.
I’m working on a tv movie now and the experience I’m having seems counter productive to getting anything done. Sounds like you had good lines of communication on this.
I’ve not seen the movie but from your pics I see a cool looking take on an alien skeleton.
Keep cranking out the stuff that makes me go to the movies!

Stan Winston passed away on Sunday

Yes Stan passed away on Sunday,
it has been a rough week for both his family at home and his family at the studio.
We will all miss him more than you can imagine, but the legacy of imagination and innovation he left will be felt for generations to come.

Thanks Stan for raising the bar and giving us all something to reach for!
SCOTT PATTON

I had the pleasure of meeting Stan on many occasions through out my career.
There was never a moment in time that you were made to feel insignificant.
He was always ready to share stories.
Stan will be missed by all… it is a loss of quality of an amazing entrepreneur and human being.
But as already said elsewhere, I’m sure Stan is comparing notes with Lon and Jack in Heaven.
My condolences to all.
Cheers

… heh heh heh

was it SKULLBEAST STUDIOS INC.?

see ya’ on monday…

Really nice work. I was just thinking this morning about a shot breakdown I saw at Siggraph of how they did the effect of that alien coming back to life, with the various jiggly soft tissue layers blending into the skeleton.

Who the heck am I to criticize something that came out of Stan Winston Studio?..but how would that thing move around if its pelvis was essentially fused to it’s ribcage via that webwork of bone? Kinda negates the point of having independent vertebrae with discs in between. I’m not busting anyone’s chops, it’s just an observation. And like I said, I ain’t nobody and I don’t know nuthin about nuthin. I guess at some point cool overrides functional

What if it was like cartilage?

sure, why not

dustinbrown: Yeah, the fused ribs were Spielbergs idea, I try not to do anything that can’t be resolved in the real world, just ask skullbeast he is usually the one that has to do it .
If figure it could be clear “alien” cartilage as mikala said.

Skullbeast: not a snub , I thought we were on the same side…

my bust (feeling Froggy). I just took it wrong. I’ve gone maddd… what’s new… I’m Tattooing Teddy H. today! hee muhhahahaha  :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :+1: :+1: “the horror” enjoy your weekend.

Hey , I love your work! Do you have more pictures of it from different angle ? Or d you have more behind the scenes picture?
