Indiana Jones Crystal Skulls

wow cool stuff patton…so are u guys doing most of your sculpts in 3D now?
and printing them out?

what printing systems do u use to get those details?

Great stuff. Just imagine when this tech will be accessible for the mainstream.
You guys are the pioneers bridging the mediums.

Wow, more great work from Patton! You are a real inspiration. Please keep up the posting here on ZBC, I think you guys serve as an inspiration to everyone!

Awesome work dude. I gotta say working next to spielberg! I would be to nervous to do anything that even resembles a sculpt! haha.

Indy was excellent. I felt like a boy watching it.

Cheers
Brett

Holy cow…
Thats rocks hard…
Terrific job:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:
I wish I could collaborate on such creasy stuffs one day

Freaking cool man. :sunglasses: :+1: *5

WOw ! its great man ! i love it !
i agree with alex…Pixologic must have an iterview with you and Stan winston team…
and thanx for sharing your works !

I watched the movie the other day. Great job on the skeletons. They were really cool. :+1:

Patton, you are the man.

Wow…I have to amit you guys ROCK!!! Great work, the movie was awesome. Seeing all this amazing work is just simply inspirational. Thanks!

Fantastic work man! Looking at the prototypes, I am feeling some sort of the Steve Wang’ish quality over them, especially the shot of the bottom of the skull. Did you happen to draw a bit of inspiration from his work?
Either way Excellent sculpting!

Not that it was your decision or anything but of all the terrible scripts they must have gone through, I found it disappointing they chose the Alien theme.

The final ‘crystal’ look in the film seemed cheap to me; like tinfoil covered in perspex, and certainly didn’t do your zbrush work any justice. It all looked just a little bit clean and tidy.

The look for the crystal rocks in Temple of Doom was a better aesthetic choice in my opinion; dull and cracked looking until they were brought together and glowing from the inside. They held more mystery for me.

I went into the cinema knowing I’d be disappointed by the film (and yet another childhood memory destroyed) but I wasn’t prepared for the clumsiness of the 2nd half. The scene where it all started to go downhill for me … Boy Tarzan swinging through the trees followed by monkeys.

Great work!!!
Congratulations on the job of the year!!!
Now, all the guys that wanted your job and
have coffee with Spielberg.
Without knowing, tell them what kind of work week
you have been having and why you didn’t see the movie yet.

GREAT JOB ON THIS!
KUDOS!

it already is top row 4th thumbnail to the right hence the crystal skull.

Great job by the way patton on this it must be great to be able to hold what you did in zbrush in your hand thanks for posting this.

wow, this is really, really cool.

I’m VERY interested in rapid prototyping from 3DCG stuff, and to see it go from Zbrush to a physical object to a MOVIE is pretty spectacular.

Hmm i think I may have to come up with some pieces to send to you…

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Amazing work. I bet its pretty rewarding to see your digital sculpts in real life…and on the big screen and working with the top people in the fild scene. Thats certainly an inspiration to me

I havent seen the movie yet, but certainly want to see it now. Great job!

Awesome work Mr. Patton!
That’s so cool to be able to give Mr. S what he wants right then and there.

There’s just something so appealing about those grey protoype prints.
I hope the tech comes down to earthbound range someday so I can have one of those printers in my garage

I completely agree with that… “like tinfoil covered in perpex”, when I looked at it on the big screen for me it looked like a prop coming from a low budget sci-fi TV series.

Do they actually have an Art Director? …mega-productions where money is no object… where the money is actually going?. Certainly the skull on screen does not show any detail, and I’m quite surprised it was sculpted from a ZB model… Well not to blame the studio or the artists, maybe the client is to blame…

I read somewhere George Lucas spent five years polishing the script… well spent Mr. George!

Thanks again guys

ghib- sorry you thought it looked cheep, you are welcome to make one of your own and amaze us all, looking forward to the pics!

amsomnia - money is no object? Ha! you don’t work in the film industry do ya Champ?
Don’t get me wrong I was able to buy a solid gold rocket ship so I could fly to the moon and check on my lunar cheese mines, and after that…all we could afford was tin foil and perspex.
As far as not blameing the artists or the studio, go ahead blame us , after all our small shop runs Hollywood, don’t you realize that the conspiracy worked!! it was all a plan to get your $10.00.
By the way you are also welcome to make a crystal skull of your own and post the pics, can’t wait to see them! OH! and thanks for the $10…
