Impetus WIP

So, here is the last part of the method (my favorite): Materials and painting with Zbrush 2.5D tools. Unfortunetely, as most good things do, it ended all to soon. But the addiction remains. So I am off to a new project. ZBrush is pure, unlimited creativity.

Thank you everyone for your encouraging comments during the WIP part of the project. This is a very supporting online community…ImpetusFinal.jpg

PS:One tiny comment… it would be really AWESOME IMHO if the finger which is clipped right now (upper frame border) would extend over that border resulting in the illusion that the beast is about to crash out of the picture…

fantastic !!!

really amazing work !! it is great how you have create this final image !!
5 stars for me !!
wonderful  :+1: :+1:

Interesting to see your advice on multi render compositing in photoshop.

Lots of good advice here on creating complete scenes.

A nice blend of 3D and painted comic book style

Splendid work, Mytholon! Thank you for providing the workflow. Such a dynamic piece. The minotaur’s hands are awsome too…:+1:

Dickie

Also a good way to blend materials!

Well well done! Love the final!

amazing work:+1:

quick question - was the 2d painting made in ZB?

Doron: Yes, the 2D painting is all ZBrush. I have done a couple of full paintings with ZBrush which are posted in this forum. Check them out here and here. In one of them I have posted also a ZScript on how I do those.

Pilou: In the future maybe I’ll do a full body pose on the Minotaur, so I can saw you his high heels.

Lemonnado: Hey, I like your idea. I should have thought that earlier though. I just can’t do any more compositing on this one now. There are a zillion other images that are trying to get out from my head, and now that expression and creativity have become so direct with ZBrush, I just can’t stay on one image for too long

Thank you so much for the eye candy:)

Wow, thanks for the update!!! I’m keeping an eye on this thread!!!

I love your webpage. Incredible sketches and Mandalas too!!!

[color=lime]I hope to see more of your work.

I am a hobbiest and seeing this INCREDIBLE work makes me sad.
…Because I know that I could never create anything close to this masterpiece.

I usually do not post any messages, but this was too good to not say anything.

John

Mytholon, first of all: I greatly adore your images! Also much thanks for the information and tutorials you give your fellow Zbrushers.
I know this is an old thread, but I’m intrigued by the image in this thread with all the different layers and renders you made for compositing in Photoshop. I want to understand and learn how you use all these layers and how you make them. I started this thread to ‘Find Out The Truth’: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=35606
Maybe you have the opportunity and time to tell or show us newbee’s something more about that part of you’re workflow? Or maybe you could tell me where to learn more about it? If so, thanks in advance, if not, than thanks for all the stuff you already learned me and other Zbrushers!

Mytholon

I know I am very late in commenting on this post but then I joined these forums even later. This is awesome work and I regard it (work wise) one of your best work.

I have gone through all of your paintings using zbrush, I missed this one somehow but this is exactly what I was looking for. Using photoshop to create those post effects with layers.

Now I am also using zbrush mainly for 2d works and paintings and I would like you to comment on my comics I am currently working on.Pls any of your tips to make it better( link below)

I have few questions regarding the layers theory you used here

  1. have you rendered everything in zbrush or used mental ray ?

  2. Basically how have you composited all the layers together, you have just use masking to hide some areas to blend different layers ?

that glossy effect on horns looks awesome and I have no idea how to create it. I always though it can be done only in 3d softwares not in photoshop.

I want to use this effect on the front cover of my comic , though I cannot for all my pages as it might take lots of time.

I hope I learn something from a master like you

Pleae do take out some time from your busy shedule.

Thanks

Fantastic Thread here!!!
