The head sculpted in ZBrush and final images rendered in 3ds Max with Mental Ray. I painted detailed SSS textures to building the right skin shader. The head has detailed geometry with great edge flow that appropriate for facial rigging and animation. For this character I used the face of Vincent Cassel the French actor as reference.

Fragonard, The Swing’s Characters in 3d - ZBrush Sculpting and Maya
There is a Maya and ZBrush viewport presentation from the characters of the Swing. This is an art project for a re-vision of the 1767 painting by Jean-Honore Fragonard.
I simulated the base of the Men’s costumes in Marvelous Designer, then I detailed them in ZBrush. Also I sculpted the hands, heads in ZBrush, for Lady I used the face of Elle Fanning as reference, for old man I used the face of Jonathan Pryce as reference. To making the hair, eyebrow and eyelash I used the powerful Maya XGen. I created the ropes in 3ds Max.

There is a ZBrush renders from the Old Man character of the Swing project. This is an great art project for a 3d re-vision of the famous 1767 painting by Jean-Honore Fragonard. Firstly I captured a lot of reference images from the 18th century’s aristocrat costumes and wigs. I made the sewing pattern of justacorps jacket, the vest, the pants, the scarf, the ruffles and the bow in Marvelous Designer, then I animated the character in sitting position on the bench, so finally I got the base of his costumes with cloth simulation. Then I exported and detailed the clothes in ZBrush. I used NoiseMaker, custom crease brushes and IMM custom brush for the lace of the coat.

The lady face from Swing project. I focused the face close-up details and I made some experiment with Arnold render using alShaders in Maya. The peach fuzz was made with XGen. The face details was sculpted in ZBrush and I painted the SSS textures in Mari.

Hi, this is the Old Man from the Swing, an art project for a re-vision of the 1767 painting by Jean-Honore Fragonard. I created the character in 2016, and recently I had time to make the render images. I rendered the images in Maya with Arnold and ACES workflow. I sculpted the head in ZBrush, I used the face of Jonathan Pryce as reference. To make the wig I used Maya XGen. I simulated the base of the costume in Marvelous Designer, then I detailed it in ZBrush. I used Photoshop and Substance Painter for the texturing.
