I have a great Challenge for everybody!!

very interesting challenge! i will probably give a try but time is very difficult to spare lately :frowning:
mnmava you are going for a very dificult one, so good luck, and as AngelJ mentioned it, only having fun matters here
and i would add that some peaple might not be very good at modeling or drawing but have an exellent understanding of anatomy in its “mathematical” form, others have no clue how you call this muscle or this one but have an amasing ability to reproduice human form …all that to say that any chritisism should be welcome as long as it is productive for the artist

Anyway, back to your art…here are some advice:
you are trying to reproduice a 2d drawing using a 3d media, but i suggest you focus on the detail that you will mostly see on your final piece, here, mainly her “front”.
You also go high in subdivision to early…i would start by getting the form of the femal warrior in a low rez subdiv, usinmg the drawing as a background to position her and get her to fit the right angle …you can probably store it using one of those brilliant script you can find in the forum, like the reference image one, then after getting the right shapes, starting detailing all the needed area, getting back to its pose using the refimage script, etc…
again, this is just a workflow like any other…just thought you might want to have my opignion
happy zbrushing

I found something I realy liked in an old post here when I first came here. I do not recall who it came from but it may have been Pixologic but I’m not sure. It was called a 121 as in “1 too 1”. The idea was to say one thing you liked about a work before each critique of a work. Seemed very civilized to me. Might be something to resurect on this board.

Don’t let critisizm bother you. Embrace it as it is how we all learn.

It is way to early to offer any criticizm of this since you have just started. For anatomy I have found this site very helpful ( http://drawsketch.about.com/od/humananatomy/Human_Anatomy_for_Artists.htm )
There is currently a link to a lesson by Frazetta :+1: ( http://www.frazettaartgallery.com/ )and lots of good links on this site. I think you jumping right into a difficult project is a good thing.

I’m also an amateur at this 3D stuff as I’m an old fossil who did not grow up with it. I am qualified to teach art in regards to drawing, painting and use of color goes. I ocassionaly post an abstract here or participate in something else going on. By what I have posted here you would not know I won a full scholarship based solely on my pencil drawings as a child. Don’t be too quick to judge others ability to critique based on where they are in this tiny aspect of art. You may have a skilled artist who is trying to help out who is as green to this aspect as you. You may need them someday to do the concept art for your future profession. Good luck with this project, you picked a great concept to learn with :+1:
