How to export Texture Map layout same as import?

tried scaling the texture (both up & down) by 1% in PS with no luck. It’s the new texture that I grab with “Create: new from polypaint” that is bad. I’m assuming it’s the UVs that need scaled then & that just scaling the texture won’t work for what I’m doing. Is there a way to scale the UVs in ZB? Let me know if this is better handled via PM

You can scale your UVs in Zbrush as well using UVMaster and then using the deformations panel, which will get you the same result, this is in theory though, as I don’t usually deal with UVs in Zbrush. But the logic is sound and should work, my only concern is how the deformations panel actually handles scaling in a single axis, I’m not sure if a change of -1 is equal to 99%.

But yeah, you’ll need to scale both, work as needed, export the texture, scale up the texture to align with the original UVs and you should be all set.

I was able to scale UVs as suggested & there was a definite improvement… lines are gone. Still getting unacceptable weird “mis-mapped” areas & noticeable gaps in between map groups. Sccaled the texture map all kinds of ways to try to match but regardless of alignment the “mis-mapping” still happens when I “create:new from polypaint”. Ideas?

i’m thinking you have something like geometry folded upon itself in areas.

if you mask off random sections at a time and just use fill from the color palette to paint the sections different colors,
then do new from polypaint, the texture might come out clean. if it does then it should mean the geo is the issue.
