Grom HellScream

this is my favourite model from you now… and it has a lot of potential… you should go in and add the crazy details like veins and cracks in the armor because it’s worth it here…

Hey guys thanks for the great comments!

And 3d70mohamedaly, did you mean that I should fix shoulder / chest connection area. I’ll look into it then.

Thanks again to all! Will post updates / more angles soon!

And icaruz, yea I got that concept from sonsofthestorm.com tbh! Love that site. I also love Rane’s art it’s awesome, but they’re all great. Love everything warcraft and BLIZZARD anyways!

Hi all, fixed very slightly (not even noticable difference in sculpt nearly) and here is another angle:

great work dude

How you make this thing? Are you only using zbrush from a zsphere or using another 3d software? And if you using another software for modelling can i see the wireframe? :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Hey Dude! Another Great Warcraft-esque Model!!! Very Good! You are also… Quickly!!! :sunglasses: :+1:

Hi and thanks Piz and Icaruz!

I will hopefully soon post wires and a textured version and explain method.

Darukiiiiin !!!

Do you want to kill me with your WoW inspirational propaganda  ??
I cant see this no ! I just cant ! Now I must do something based on this . I just have to ! .

Anyway this is awesome . There are things to work on but this is just pure inspiration for me . I say : You have captured the soul !

Legendary regards Alex !

Why thanks you athiandr!!

I will PM u soon

Hi again. Update:

I began texturing.

Here is first draft of textured version:

I hope you like. C&Cs are welcome

I must say also, that my method of texturing was really fast and strange method. It’s made up of Zbrush renders (different matcaps + blendmodes + masks) plus photoshop. I textured this in just a day or two. If enough people are interested in my method I can make a quick making of, but I just don’t know if my result is good enough to be worth a making of:

Here goes, hope you like:

You’ve outdone yourself my friend :+1: .
The textured version is spot on.

This is a really nice piece. It’s shaping up really well. Are you planning to animate?

how much time did u take to make the model!!!
u are very good man…

hi dude, you r textures is really awesome and if you wanna make a quick making of, i’ll be waiting for it and i really glad if u starting with your modelling process too.

But above all, YOU ROCK, MAN!!!

Kickass model you did here Darukin! :+1:
And love your texture work as well! The result is amazing, no doubt…
A quick making of would be great! It’s always good to learn new techniques!

Uou its crazy!
I loved his pose and expression!

Hey! Thanks for the responses to all of you!

Next I will post the wires and a small ‘making-of’ for the rendering part hopefully, as soon as I can. Thanks again!

Here’s the original concept its based on (By Samwise Dider) if you’re interested, compared against my 3D translation, of course I made it with some differences.

very nice work dude…the model rocks!!

nice model.
main thing thats wrong u can see directly in the concept art the lighning is much better. zbrush is fun to render with but it will never replace a external renderer

Hey thanks definitely maybe, loved your own warcraft orc work

And thanks Disco Stu, I agree. True I didn’t work enough with light passes from Zbrush so it could’ve been a mistake from my part, but I know that zbrush renders will never replace external rendering. Is the lighting though worse in comparison to the concept only or generally wrong even on its own merit (just wud like to know).

About the Zbrush rendering, I know it’s better in external rendering but I just did this for fun and not production or anything and I have slow PC anyway which takes forever in maya MR etc to render and setup shaders correctly and all the technical frustrations etc usually without perfect result I want anyway even, but this way, while it will never be the same as external renderer with FG GI Sun IBL etc, I finished texturing and rendering in 1 day only, maybe 2, and is more intuitive whereas it would take me weeks otherwise for external. Like I said I agree with you for sure but I chose Zbrush way for fast intuitive fun way thats all.

Man this is awsome  Looks like in Blizzard style  Very love it
About rendering :

You made really good job . You can achieve almost same results with zbrush rednering as with external renderers . Perhaps you know this but if not take a look at it
http://www.pixologic.com/zclassroom/artistspotlight/
Here you will find how to render good skin .
By the way how to make skin ? Just render subdermal layer and normal layer in brush and some other layers like specular and then just combine them in photohsop  That is all . The result should be same as you would make it with external render .

P.S. I will send you mail soon . Sorry I was a bit busy with my texturing to write you

By the way Durakin . Have you seen this cinematic : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwIPo5x8B4s&feature=rec-fresh ? It is about Hellscream from WC3 game .
