SpaceMan, unfortunately AE doesn’t support 3D objects like Photoshop. (Unless your model is a 3D “plane”
The Photoshop deal is REALLY changing my workflow!!! thanks a lot!!!
Only thing i would like is for GoZ to save the models/textures inside the Maya project im currently working. I guess i could manually change the paths but i sometimes work on several projects a day!
If there is already a solution please msg me. Otherwise it would be excellent to keep stuff organized!
ty!!! Zbrush rocks!!!
I’m half way through a project where ive modeled the entire interior of a pirate ship, nearly every model went through Zbrush and I had to labourously output texture, normal and Displacment, for each model and set them up in Soft - its enough to make me cry
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make one for XSI/softimage
the boss here is planning to buy loads of MB licenses cos “it integrates into Autodesk products so much easier”
@Willpreston23: you can do this in XSI, if you have GoZSoftimage Lite, and export the model to your scene in XSI, and just create shapes with the Goz imports. XSI will automatically create clusters for the parts of the face
Its not the same, I’ve tried Go Z for Maya and Go Z lite for Soft and there’s a big difference, I need it to be like Maya which can export multiple subtools with their multiple maps and setting up render trees all at the touch of a button.
Go Z might be useful for certain jobs but I had to abandon it and go through it the old way,
Wow. Great. Woo-hoo.
Looks cool but I guess I must have missed the part about GoZ for Softimage or Lightwave.
Oh well, Mudbox has its own GoZ sort of thing for Softimage, plus Maya and max too, and it works amazing with Photoshop and better than GoZ in all respects.
Zbush is cool and all but GoZ isn’t the be-all, end-all thing people rave about.
i beg you , make it for blender as well
Just thought I would cast my vote for a Blender GoZ
glad to see other users also asking for a Blender GoZ. Fingers crossed, our pipelines no longer use other 3D suites.
+1 for Blender GoZ :-)!!!
I and another developer have asked for the SDK from pixologic to be able to add this functionality to Blender. Neither of us have heard anything at all from them.
Fingers crossed they will email us soon so we can get started.
Hi Jester,
thanks for your effort, how goes your work on XSI GoZ?
I’m curious why Pixologic ignore XSI, there is a specfic reason?
It’s not Pixologic ignoring any one software.
The problem is simply that no one has developed the SDK into the Softimage app yet.
They have given Jester the SDK on request and I have been told that Jester is doing this now. It’s going to take weeks to develop, test and bugfix. Softimage users are going to be very happy soon.
It’s not up to Pixologic to write the integration into any specific software, that’s why they released the SDK. it’s up to the company that own that software, or it’s developers to manage it.
Hi guys just wanted to notify that this isn’t working with the Photoshop CS 5 Extended 64 bit, but works flawlessly with the CS 4 extended 32 bit version.
Just if it matters the photoshop CS 5 Extended 64 bit is actually a 30 day trial.
So AD don’t care about XSI?
Autodesk say no, is a Pixologic issue writing GoZ for application they want support…
It’s being done for XSI right now.
Patience please!
I have patience and I’m grateful to Jester for his effort, but want understood why one of the major software out there was ignored, and who abandoned it: Pixologic or Autodesk (after the buggy 2012 release I have a idea about…
Hi there,
Im on a mac using CS5 Extended as well and it doesn’t work with 64bit but does with 32bit is this common problem?
The cinema 4d R12. seams to be working much better now though so thank you…
not pixo, the SDK was resleased for the use of other companies for Goz to be intergrated. If AD don’t want to make it for XSI, that’s their problem, but that’s not to say someone else, like jester, can’t take it on.
Saying that though. Pixo may have done it for Maya and 3D Max in the first instance to show how it works. Maybe AD now think it’s Pixo that have to do it to other software as a result? Who knows…
And lets not forget the fact that AD have Mudbox, a competitor to ZB so probably don’t want to do anything too helpful.
Well I tried the manual install and it now works great with photoshop 64bit version too…
For your information, Photoshop CS5 x64 on Mac OSX will be supported in the next (minor) update of GoZ.
