Hey everyone, just a quick update of the ‘Grounds keeper’ character. I managed to get the normals and AO map to display in the viewport at real-time, its a little laggy but its quite satisfying to spin him around :smiley:

This little guy is the second character in the short animation that I and the rest of the team are working on.
His design is inspired by the muppets and the animation style of the project will be very ‘muppety’.

Still a long way to go before animation though!

Lots of nice sculpt in here! Is hat detail made from displacement texture projected on uv mapped hat? Looking great

JoseConseco - Thanks! You are dead right, I did use an alpha on the UVs to displace the mesh to create the woolly hat.

I managed to retopologise the boy yesterday as well as UV unwrap and bake Normals + AO. I have posted an image above of the new mesh and with maps viewed in Maya’s viewport.

Hey everyone, I have put together a turntable for the groundskeeper character to show you all. The short is coming nicely, the animation team have been super busy bringing this guy to life, I can’t wait to show you all.
