Gauthier B - Sketchbook

Hi everyone, I’m student in 3d modeling. I’m working with Zbrush since last April i think, so i’m quite a rookie !

Here are some works i’ve been working on, some for school’s projects, some for fun and my portfolio.

This is my first sculpt, an old dead tree with an evil mouth ! Basemesh in max, and BPR render.

Every C&C are welcome !

I liek it, very interesting.

Thx nebular ! but this one is quite random, but hee, we have to start !

This one is my second year exam. I decided to do a Warhammer figurine style, this board game really inspire me !

At the time, i wasn’t very familiar with brushes, tools… but for a second work, i think this is not bad

Started from Zsphere, polypainting, BPR render, composited in Toshop.

Hope you like it !

Hi eveyone,

This is a character that i made for my last year exam. It’s a short movie of 3 or 4 minutes, made with 3 other guys.

Quick storyline : A young guy want to join the mafia, but he has to pass different tests. He is so lame that he won’t succeed any of them, but finally he will finish as a cook into the mafia…

There will be 2 characters.

The first is “the examiner”. This is a WIP.

All critics are welcome.

Again some rock tests.

I think it is too limp, maybe i have to renforce edges, or use more planar brush than hpolish with pinch. I don’t want inevitably to have a realistic touch, a little stylize aspect.

@jack999 Thanks !

Hi, i’m working on a werewolf for a short that schoolmates have to do.

He loses aggressivity without teeth, but i don’t know if i have to sculpt them in the head or as a new subtool, for animation purpose. If anyone have a solution, it will be perfect !:rolleyes:

Every critics and comments are welcome :slight_smile:

Hey,

For animation purposes, it depends on how the figure will be rigged. If the face/head will have it’s own bone setup, you (or your friend) could just link the lower set of teeth to the coresponding jaw bone. Alternatively, if the face will be animated using morph targets then it would be better to have the teeth attached to the body and set the morph targets ready to be blended. If that makes sense. That’s how I would go about it anyway.

Good luck, the model looks like it will animate well.

:smiley:

Amazing, congrats !

@abiko Thanks ! :slight_smile:

@Trist Thanks for the tips. :slight_smile:
They animate it in 3dMax, so i can’t use blendshapes. The face will receive skinning and morphers from max, so i can sculpt the upper teeth in the head but for lower teeth, it must be a different object if i understood well ?
