 Hi !

Does anyone know where I can buy Zbrush video training in Canada?
I’ve understood that it becomes quite costly crossing the border.

Thanx a Million!

…mine, but it’s not video  (See my Tips Tuts signature)

 Hi Frenchy Pilou !

I just made a quick visit to your “Tips Tuts” site.
Very nice work indeed. :+1:
I’ll be going back a little later to spend more time at your site.
Thanx very much!

Maybe other users have had better luck but I thought I’d check out their “free” tutorials just to have a look. I found the site to be pretty shonky and quite frankly fraudulent. In that even after logging on and receiving a confirmation email I found that trying to access a “free” tutorial just put me into a loop which kept taking me back to the spot where I originally tried to access the video.

I sent a message to the contact as listed which was the webmaster@ but that returned an undeliverable email notification.

Just thought I’d let anyone who might be interested know about my experiences. By the look of what I was able to glean one would be far better off using ones time to browse this forum instead.

I’m only posting this because someone has to take a stand against sites like this. However maybe others have had better luck this is only my personal experience.

I recently purchased digital-tutors vtm’s on the intro to ZBrush. They arrived in just three days! (To Australia) Found them VERY helpful for those starting out. Would recommend them to any noobs.

I’ll check them out now as I am confusing these guys with another site with free tuts, be back later with any info

Yep seems ok here, I just re-registered with Digital tutors and went to the free video tut link at the top of this thread. selected the tutorial to watch then you must remember to select the format in which you want the video tut to play. I got to say all went well here with no problems.

Maybe you need to check if you got the cookies disabled in your browser or something like that.

I certainly know that these guys are not a scam, many people I know have bought tutorials from Digital Tutors and are happy with their purchase.

Regards

Bill

Dogbone,

The Digital tutor site is confusing but u need to click on the coloured “download” button, that will get u want u want!
I was similarly lost too:o, not helped by the fact that it looped to itself…

but i did download the tutes and it seemed quite good. my 2 cents

:confused:strange i can only find Electronic Download but that seems to go to paid video’s :o

Potential Zbrusher here, (coming from 10 years of formZ). My only chance would be quick-access visual learning. Just wondering, what do people use for pass words at these many video sites, same for each new site? Any problems with same pass?

Is it possible that some videos are outdated? Is there a way to predetermine which videos are version 2 specifically?

The script tutorials sound very good, likely much better than video. The Zscripting Forum appears focused on building scripts, more than using scripts for a fast track, casual, would-be-beginner. Worse, an old dog straining in patience to acquire new methods in familiar dimension-land. Is there a way to tell which scripts are version 2 specific and which scripts are less useful for version 2? Thanx in advance!

I suggest try first with thezscript tutorial that comes with ZBrush, before running each tutorial press in the script panel “show actions and notes” and delay actions to see better and not fast¡
If you have specific question i will try to make big screen for you¡

Every site has their own security requirements. Some require a minimum of six characters, some eight. Some have a maximum length that’s smaller than the minimum at other sites, so there can be problems using the same password at multiple sites.

I don’t believe the webmasters are using your password to log into each other’s sites, if that’s what you’re asking. But it’s generally good practice to create a new password for every account you create online. Just pick something you can remember.

That probably doesn’t help you, though.

How can I put this politely?

You’re not asking for passwords, are you?
'cause, there are rules about that sort of thing.

Understand that this is a developer’s forum, so if you’re asking for help in stealing from the very small community of teachers who help to promote said developer, that might not be well received here.

I’m sure I’m misreading you, though. It’s probably just a language problem. Bad translation.

(what do they speak out in Maine?)

The videos up at 3DBuzz are for the old version, which make them useful to help learn the demo version available for download, since that’s also back at 1.55b…

Unless I’m mistaken, all other ZBrush videos (online, offline, anywhere in the world) are version 2 specifically.

the latest issue of 3D World Magazine comes with a flash-based zbrush2 tutorial on how to create a demon-ish kind of head…i’ve just recently bought ZBrush on the recommendation of a friend, and it really helped.

I basically opened Zbrush for the first time, watched the tutorial (ok, twice) and made my first thing - a head, then later on that day, two more. They’re by no means perfect, but I would have been lost if it weren’t for that tutorial (I only signed up to this site this morning).

It’s the March 2005 issue with the hot cybor-girl on the cover…

hi I am new member
Just learning ZBrush some days before
any body can ask me detail about the marker
or give me some tutorials on that

Just want to point out that the site is right and not fraud at all. I too purchased a texturing tutorial cd and i never had any problems. Arrived in time. They also show up on big events like Sigraph and other 3D events. They are cool to talk to also…

Cheers

Nice of you to jump to their defense. Was someone attacking?

edit:
Ah. There it is, back in December.

I’m not a huge fan of the Digital Tutors ZBrush offering. I think their approach is well-suited to traditional modeling, but puts you in the wrong mindframe for dealing with ZBrush.

That’s not fraud, though. I received my CD from them without any issues – theyr’e not stealing customer’s money or lying about what’s offered. And, yes, I found them to be very friendly people, and would go back to them for help learning any piece of software which is not ZBrush. Without a second thought.

How are you. Well on the first page Dogbone said that its fraud if you read it you will see. But i am not attacking him or nobody here just wanted to clear it out that its not fraud. It might not be the best site for Zbrush or anything but its really informative on programs and if you want to just learn the basic stuff on any program they have those movies. There is nothing fraud about that. They really show you the whole program step by step in detail and also what most or every button does in a program.

But now i am a beginner on Zbrush and i think for organic modeling there is nothing better or quicker out there as i can tell. The only problem right now is topology. Its really hard to lay down topology on my models now, but hopefully in time i will get that down too. Especially with the new version they are coming out. Those teaser movies are amazing that they have on their site. I am very interested!

Cheers…
