Wow, I really like this. It’s always good to see your work Glen. You are one of the originals who inspired me to use zbrush. And thanks for the tips on blending matcaps in photoshop, I’ll have to give that a try.
…of a master!
Very cool looking scene!
One of the persons responsible for my Zaddiction…
So is that rosette made in zbrush by rotating your tool? That is a cool one.
Of the whole thing is nice, but you lost me on making the material, I’m not photoshop literate. Did you use the matcap at all for it?

Whow…there’s so many old faces just popped up. Its great to see that you are all still here and by the look of your post counts you must actually live
in here…lol.
EDIT: OMG…I just noticed, after nine years of using ZBrush I finally hit my 1000th post…and I didn’t even notice until after I posted it. I always planned to have a party for that…lol
Johnfoo: I did one version using matcap but the overall effect was more Bronze than copper. In the end I rendered out about 10 different images, each with one of the componants of the copper look I was after. So, one image had the aqua color with some ramped up cavity settings. One image had the creamy/reddish copper color with a settings to make it like copper piping (specularity high ect.). I then painted over a few of them in ZBrush to get dips and rain stains. I did the paint over in ZBrush so that the patterns would follow the contours of the model. I then put all the layers into photoshop and used layer masks on each image to remove certain parts and allow lower layers to show through. I used a few layer blends as well for effect (multiply, pin light etc.). It’s still very much a WIP but I was getting where I wanted with the copper look and I decided to stop there. I’ve now gone back and started painting the hunched guy andI am now trying to get the matcap to work from my own final image, if you see what I mean. I didn’t do enough work on the stand either.
super amazing man, i like the style, the sculpting and even the material,
great work … keep it up
Thanks for this masterart Glen, we miss you here!

Glen,
Wow! Great concept, Great design, Great use of materials, and incredible luck on your post number (hehe). I really think if you have any spare $$ you should get this one 3D Printed. That way you have your “Fear” and “Loathing” out on your desk instead of in you head when a client calls  . Anyway, really wonderful work. Next time don’t make us wait so long between your personal projects.
Really great to see you back, Glen. Hope to see more of your work here again! And congrats on the 1,000th post, too.
Great work Glen, nice to see some old skool ZBrushers still got skillz…
I’m remember following some tutorial from a master, you of course, but I’m thinking that, its not your best pict !
Of course you’re a great master of Zbrush but I’m not really ok with this pict, on the right side its ok, but on the left the devil seems to be not in position, the pose so so… and I’m waiting for the final result.
Best regards
Boblog your disciple… for a longtime now
(I will post when a MAc.X comes out)

Good to see you back Glen. Hows the little one, not so little now I imagine. You must be soooo busy theses days. Do you actually sleep? This is a nice piece of work to be re-appearing on here with. I remember when I first started with this software and emailed you for advice, and asked you about your work. Thanks for that, quite a few years ago now. Well i am looking forward to the progress on this image and the many images to come that you will show on her and on your web site. Take care.
