Thanks dude! the matcap I’m using is a Mudbox material I made. I wish I knew how to post the matcap file so you can download it but I can post the jpg image you can then import into zbrush and in the matap modifiers use that to get exactly what I have. Here’s the image:

Hey dude, all you gotta do is Save as MatCap, from the material window on the bottom, then you can just take that file and Upload it. =]
For a while I’ve been wanting to do my own take on the 1922 film Nosferatu. In a world where now vampires have gone all emo and soft, I wanted to remind all you kids what a vampire used to be like! I actually drew some inspiration from what in my opinion was one of the last GOOD vampire films, 30 Days of Night where I was really disturbed by how the vampire’s eyes were set ever so slightly far apart and angled like a bats. On a human face that makes for a rather uneasy sight. I also wanted to make my version skinny and androgynous drawing a bit of influence from Marilyn Manson. I’m still considering this a WIP and I might do an upper half with those freaky long fingers Nosferatu had in the movie.
[]
Yea that’s what I’d do if i were modeling the predator. Not use 1 of the trillion photos of it online.
Some great sculpts here! The 30 day Nosferatu is looking great and that upside down Silent Hill creature is fab! Like Julian, I’m hoping to see some textures. If for some reason you don’t intend texturing, fancy a collaboration?
I continued working on him adding some asymmetry to his head. No one’s face is perfectly symmetrical. I also did some polypainting.

it’s always a pleasure to look at your stuff man.
looking forward to see more on this.

Thanks everyone! I saw the new Predators movie and had to do a sculpt of the new predator called the berserker or “Mr. Black” I took the same mesh I used for my previous predator and reworked it.

Awesome work man !! Very inspiring.
Nice! I dig the new predator!
Very Nice work man.
I really like your sculpting material, I converted it to be used in sculptris and its my new favorite. Thanx!
Very cool, zbrush at its strength!
Thanks guys! I updated Mr. Black using Z4. Loving the new brushes but having a hard time with the armor. Still need to get better with hard surface in zbrush, any tips welcome!

The best thing you could do in order to take full advantage of the new features in Z4, would be to try and keep the individual pieces of armor separate, instead of sculpting them all on one piece.
What you’ve got would really work just fine. I do the same thing for armor most of the time. Just use the standard brush, with a small brush size, to draw in the borders of the different pieces. Then use something like clay tubes to build up the surface. finishing off with the flatten or polish brushes to smooth the surface. (rinse and repeat)
Seeing some alien sculpts on here I noticed how the last few were based on the “alien resurrection” design by ADI. Although the sculpts themselves looked good due to the incredible talent on this forum the design itself in that movie left for much to be desired. I decided to do an alien based on the only real good design by H.R. Giger. I’m trying to match his sculpt and eventually pose it out. Here’s my WIP using BPR.

Seems alot of people here have taken to doing predators now! Whelp, heres another one I’m working on with my first real attempt to do hard surface in zbrush. The armor started out as an masking mesh extract that I later shadow boxed and used polish and trim dynamic on.
one thing about zbcentral, there is always a hulk, batman, or predator wip thread in the works. lol but you did a great job on your predator. great detail and form. aces, mate.
How did you made those scales on the arms and the legs?
Your Predator is really good!
Thanks! I did the scales on a layer using the clay tubes brush with the brush depth modified up a bit. Then I messed with the numerical value of the “Scales” layer till it looked to where I liked it.
