Well deserved top tow.
Thanks for sharing your workflow. Can’t decide which one I like the most cos both are of really high standard.

wow these are outstanding, love the barbarian model you got the feel of it just right, and the detail on the turtle is just crazy. good stuff
top row. its just amazing:D
All of these are amazing…
What package did you render the bearded swordsman in? And how did you do his hair and beard?
Thanks everyone for the comments
EricShawn all the pieces were rendered in mental ray for max.
For more information on the swordsman you can see the making of in the latest issue of the cgarena web magazine.
it’s a very very wonderful image. a life one. what a talent and compassion…
Wow,I like Galapagos Giant Tortoise, neat, solid and cool. The retopologised mesh is pretty.
Excuse me,Eoin Cannon.Whether you can tell me which model is used for animation ,the retopologised one, right? There is no worry about the possible streching, right?
Thank you, buddy!
good job~ !!!
Very nice. A few of the best creature sculpts I’ve seen in a long time.
Just curious as to what rig you are running to get details like that in zBrush.
Thanks Krawlin
My PC is nothing special. Quad core, 8GB RAM, Geoforce GTX260.
If I subdivide a model to around 10 million polys it starts to struggle a bit, especially with undos, but it’s still useable, you just have to use polygroups and hide/unhide a bit more.
The models that are rendered in MAX also have high res bump maps for fine details, so not all of the detail is sculpted in. A displacement map can only do so much without really slowing down the render times.
Love the tortoise. Fantastic detail and proportioning. I’m just learning zbrush so it’s great to see the level of detail that can be achieved.

great sculpting!..
This started out as an anatomy study then I decided to texture it and try to learn a bit about the vray skin shader. I guess what I wanted to do was try and create some anatomy that was interesting to look at but without a lot of visible muscles.
Overall, a really good job on this. What did you use for reference? The only things that look off to me are the head and arms. The head looks a bit big, or the shoulders are too narrow, or a little of of both. Also, the arms look perhaps to thin and muscular when compared to the rest of him. Great job on the face and torso.
great.
That’s really awsome job!
Last image is just great, both anatomy and textures are almost perfect!
Beautiful rendering!!!
What the hell! A non muscular man! Am I in the right forum
Lovely work. I think he’s great although the arms have maybe too much definition?
looking great. Its refreshing to see work like this.
I think the fleshiness of the skin shader could be improved. Right now it looks pretty much like a standard blinn shader. I would try to play with the scatter settings and the specular probably.
great work
I’m really impressed with this last one.
Excellent study, *5
